The Bakersfield Jam advanced to the inaugural Showcase Cup Championship by defeating the Sioux Falls Skyforce in convincing fashion by a score of 104-88.

Bakersfield had six players score in double figures and was led by Phoenix Suns' assignee, Archie Goodwin who registered a game-high 24 points, five rebounds and two assists. Earl Barron added 17 points, five rebounds and three assists in the win. Joe Jackson, Jerel McNeal, Jamil Wilson and Adrian Thomas all came off the bench to score in double figures.

With the score even at 18 at the three-minute mark of the first quarter, Thomas and Wilson connected on back-to-back three-pointers as part of an 18-0 run lasting five minutes and eight seconds to put Bakersfield on top 36-18 with 8:22 to play in the first half. They extended their lead to 54-34 going into halftime and would never give in back an inch.

Bakersfield went up as many as 30 points in the fourth quarter, following a Jackson three-pointer to make the score 95-65 midway through the final stanza.

Henry Walker and Shawn Jones were bright spots for Sioux Falls. Walker scored a team-high 23 points on 9-for-14 shooting. He connected on four of his eight attempts from long distance. Jones scored 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. The 15 boards were the most he's had in a game since opening night when he took down 19 in a win over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Both teams qualified for the Showcase Cup by virtue of their records as of Jan. 1, as the top eight teams compete to become the first-ever Showcase Cup champion. They both had victories on Thursday on day one of the Showcase, which advanced them to today's semifinal matchup.

The Showcase Cup Championship Game is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. PT. and Bakersfield will await the winner of the cup semi-final between the Santa Cruz Warriors and Grand Rapids Drive. Sioux Falls will be back in action on Thursday, Jan. 22 as they host the Iowa Energy
