Let's hope she gets more than the slap on the wrist I fear is coming

Authorities did not explain how the situation escalated to the shooting, declining to comment on whether the officer mistook Jean for an intruder.

"I won't go into that information right now," said Sgt. Warren Mitchell, a Dallas police spokesman. "We have not interviewed her. ... We still have a lot to do in this investigation."

This shit always irritates me, if it hadn't been a cop the person would have not just been "interviewed," they'd be down at the police station being interrogated.

You know if the victim had shot the cop he would be being "interviewed" after being handcuffed and taken to the police station.

And she has been placed on paid leave.

So she shoots someone in their own home. She doesn't have to talk to the cops. And the cops are paying for a vacation for her. Seems fair.

Another cop with a handgun in a residential building killing someone ….and people are supposed to feel more safe eh? I just don't get it

Where I live, the Sheriff promises to have a deputy to your place within 24 to 36 hours, if you call for one.

Living where a drunk off duty cop can walk in, sounds down right scary.

Many cops are on ego trips and like that they are empowered. And there are many corrupt cops in all places , high and low.
But there are many great police that have been trained properly and are dedicated to helping, and not hung up on ego trips.
I know both types.
Training is paramount!

That's what happens when people who don't want to pay taxes get their way. Government services go downhill.

tell us your theory of why your services suck?

These are your word, reflecting your view of the world as you see it. Not mine.

The cop isn't walking into my place on some fuck up. It doesn't even take a PhD cop to avoid the error.
Nor do we have 10 thousand of them improving the odds.

We don’t know the facts yet. Could be drunk or on drugs, lock her up. But could just be a really sad situation where she is overworked, undertrained and day to day is super high-stressed situations. I’m not saying she should get off completely but this looks like it could be a result of a fundamentally broken system. I’m not sure, I’ll wait on more information

Stop protecting them. They don't need it. They're pretty good at protecting themselves.

Stop trying to have it both ways.

If cops are regular people, they have regular people flaws too.

How am I protecting bad cops and having it both ways?
I said there are many corrupt cops!
Because I said there are decent ones that do their job right desert mean I'm having it both ways. Its just i used and example of two kinds.

Im a guy that always thought there is a thin line between cops and criminals, the same rush is experienced by criminals and cops.
