Dame is the Leader now, Jason Quick eviscerates Aldridge (1 Viewer)

I heard a story third hand, so take it with a grain of salt. The team a couple years ago was flying back from somewhere in the south and an assistant coach was bringing back some peaches for himself/family. Some players were hungry so the assistant offered up his peaches which were immediately grabbed by a few of the closer players. None left when Aldridge wanted one. Hours later when they landed, the assistant asked Aldridge if he had plans for his few days off and Aldridge replied, "finding my own peaches I guess", and walked off.

I legit can't tell if you are being sarcastic or this is true.

You Know Who is going to be in for a big surprise when he realizes that Pop isn't going to coddle him like that everyday, he just needed him to sign the paper.

The contrast between the Quick article and the Canzano article is disorienting. Do both of these guys exist in the same universe?

Everyone will believe that LA is a monster because it's easier to stomach and gives the fan base hope for the future. Yea, we lost an all star and top PF, but now we're better off. Keep buying those season tickets.
No one is saying we're better off.

Regardless if it is Dame's team or not, you aren't going to win in the west when you have the roster that the Blazers have right now. Yes it is his team, but his team probably isn't winning more than 30 games next year.

I think the take in that forum that is the truest is that the Spurs' ethic will rub off on Aldridge, and he'll grow the fuck up.
Well, Pops has send players down to the DLeague to get them in line. That particular technique won't work. Neither will yelling.

Are they going to run as much of their offense through him that he did?
Will he get annoyed at their attention to Leonard?
What happens when they start losing?

I agree with everything Quick wrote in this one. That's exactly the impression that I have from Aldridge. Quiet. Brooding. Jealous. Bitter.

I'm glad he's gone, but I wish we would have gotten something in return.

I am not happy, though I understand your position. With 2 allstars, we were 1 guy away from having a "Big 3." Now, we have a Big 1.
Absolutely correct Wiz. I really wanted him back because of this. But that foundation was really built around Aldridge being 1a.

At least with this foundation, we have a bonafide batman

I feel a little bad for Aldridge when he starts crying the first time his new coach yells at him.
I think popovich has a way of calling out even his stars but doing it in his humorous way, and also he has the rep and cred so he can get away with it. Maybe Stotts and Olshey should have tried it sometime, but maybe it would have failed and they would have got the blame for Aldrich leaving.

Nice to see a national piece talking about what so many in Portland already knew.

But but quick has an agenda!! Lol I'm glad aldridge is gone. Maybe one day he'll grow up. Maybe not. Who cares. It's Lillard time.
