Dame is the Leader now, Jason Quick eviscerates Aldridge

I was recalling an event happening immediately after news.

Batum tweeted two words...

"This League"

Let this sink in for a bit...

Now think why he said it. He knew he was traded to appease Aldridge. When later he found out that Aldridge picked Spurs, you know he was pissed. Pissed at how he wanted to stay in Portland, was forced out because Aldridge wanted him out, then didn't pick them anyway.

This is why we got a heart felt letter from Batum. He knew what Rip City was about. Now I knew he had to go and it's most likely best he did go, but this league did this. It's become lazy and what will you do for me now. No more of this Willis Reid winning a game with a broken leg shit. Those days have past.

yep.

Hey, we'll know with more certainty when Batum plays the Spurs and tries to dunk on Aldridge's stupid face.

LA's sensitivity always rubbed me the wrong way and kept him from being the on the Blazer Mt Rushmore for me personally. (Walton, Lucas, Petrie, Drexler, Porter) He was certainly talented but much like his Draft postition, always seemed like a #2 and not a leader at all. It's disappointing that him leaving likely cost us some of the other players I really admired like Rolo and Wes. In the end, this is probably best as even as good as that team was, I didn't see them getting passed the 2nd round.

Rebuilds suck but this one seems to have a head start with Dame and some lottery talent already in the fold.

Go Blazers!!

Rushmore only has 4 faces

Lillard, upon return from a promotional trip in Paris, was hoping to pull off some fourth-quarter heroics on Thursday. He started planning a trip via charter plane to Los Angeles to meet with Aldridge and try to work it out. But the trip never happened because, well, it was already too late.

Lillard had wanted to coordinate the timing of a meeting before leaving town, but Aldridge, understandably, was slow to respond. He had a second meeting with the Lakers to focus on that night, then a meeting with the Miami Heat and team president Pat Riley. There were extensive text messages shared between Aldridge and Lillard in what constituted a modern-day conversation, and the message was made quite clear by the time Friday night rolled around: whether the Spurs or the Phoenix Suns, Lillard was convinced Aldridge was gone.

What a fucking pussy. TEXT MESSAGING?? Taking a second meeting with the lakers was more important to lamarsha. I swear this guy is right above Felton on my most hated list.

I am ticked about Lamarcus leaving, mostly because I love this town and I love this team, and it really burns me that he didn't... but I don't think he ever did... Dame though does. I wanted Batum gone so Damian could be the guy initiating the offense like a true All Star PG. I want Danes attitude and drive and voice to lead this team, rather than being subdued to not upset Lamarcus. Yeah we are going to have a tough season, but who knows what Damian truly becomes for us.

Hopefully some of the young guns will join him soon. His shot got a little flat towards the end of last season...get that arc back up.

Whatever caused his shooting slump to begin, I hope Lillard identifies it and fixes it so it won't happen again next year. 'Cuz if he does, we are in for a nasty looking season.
