Dame makes impassioned plea to keep (?) Ed Davis?

That is why I love him. Does more with less than most. Can be quite effective and efficient without having to run a single play for him. Reminds of B-Grant. Brian had a bit more of a post game, but so do I for that matter. Ed is a beast and needs to be here next season and on.
Damn you

If you compare Joel's best year (2008-09) to Ed's current season, they are very similar in all regards, even offensively. Joel scored 5.5 ppg, compared to Ed's 5.4. He played a few more minutes, but had a higher FG% (.625 vs. 566). Neither are/were noted for their offense, but are/were very efficient around the basket.

BNM

The comparison I did was when they were both 28 years old and I'll take 28 y/o Ed over 28 y/o Przy. :

Edit: Oops! I'm realizing that's 7 years for both. Screwed up that one.

Hey, there's such a thing as white chocolate. Why not black vanilla?

BNM

P.S. it seems ironic that vanilla is associated with the color white when the pods/beans and extract range from dark brown to black in color. I've got a bottle of vanilla extract in my pantry, and it looks nothing like white. Of course, vanilla flowers are white to yellowish white, but unless they work on a plantation that grows vanilla, most people who use the term to refer to someone/something that is white have probably never seen an actual vanilla flower.

I'd take Davis over Przybilla, but I always respected Przybilla's game when he played. It was something of a gut punch when he got hurt.

Why? He'd been a perennial injury risk all of his career. I mean, the MF re injured himself in the shower...

I could sell him one of these...

It sucked to see his career ended. I knew he injured himself in the shower as well.

I imagine the answer lies in how vanilla ice cream came to be that color and flavor.

Przybilla and Ed have one thing in common; fans value them more than anybody else.

They both set really smart screens...that's the similarity in my view

It takes more than stars to have a successful team. You also need some grinders and complimentary players.

Some of us value Ed very highly. From what I read the other day, I doubt any of us value Ed more than Dame does.

If the Blazers trade away Davis, I will know that management does not give a rip about winning anything, because anyone with a pair (of eyeballs ) can see that he makes a big difference in a positive way for this team

I see Ed’s value but he’s not irreplaceable.

He would have more value on an actual contender.

I hope he stays but if he leaves we shouldn’t lose sleep over it.

I was reading today an article about trading Nurk for Jordan practically straight across, and I feel much better about that than moving Davis.

Agreed. If there is a trade that improves the team, even Dame won't complain.

Is it about Ed being Dame's buddy, or is it about Dame perceiving that Ed provides value to the team that goes beyond the box score? I interpreted it as the second.

That’s a very moderate response. Well done.

HAHA @PtldPlatypus is gonna be watched like a hawk for a while, I can tell.

The HCP is The Ed Davis of RipCityTWO

HARDLY....

I was thinking more like CJ. Quick, Lethal, but very little defense....

Shouldn't that analysis be based at least somewhat on what would come back in return?

Because white people appropriate everything that's why. They won't let us fuck with their vanilla!
Holy cow, Dviss, you might be on to something...

Yes !! But who's going to trade a better player for a lesser player (if indeed Davis is the lesser player ). I continue to believe that a "team" who plays well together can beat anybody in the league, and in my mind Davis is a perfect fit puzzle piece for the Blazers .

We'll just lose games over it. A lot.

When I was a Bulls fan, we'd post about Przybilla. That's fans of another team valuing him. The gist is we thought he was a solid bench player who did almost all the little things that helps teams win.
