I am glad I don't have a twitter account....seems like just another way to get in trouble, and I already have enough ways to do that

This has nothing to do with “PR”…. He was answering questions and comments on a live feed. What are you talking about?Nice try from his PR team.
No blame on the front office at all huh, zero? Loyalty goes both ways
Definitely, both are to blame. Past management had lots of blame imo, this one not as much due to being handcuffed by some of Olshey’s mess.We can both blame the front office for their mismanagement and dame for trying to railroad the franchise.
Both can be true. It's really not that hard to understand.
Being sarcastic pal...but I'm sure you knew that. This has nothing to do with “PR”…. He was answering questions and comments on a live feed. What are you talking about?
@julius you just typed that you are NOT a fan of Dame, but of the team? Wow. To each his/her own I guess.
He’s under contract and he’s basically asking the team to do him a solid and send him somewhere else. He has no rights here. The blazers own his rights for another 3-4 seasons.I don't think anyone commenting on this was watching the IG Live but I did catch it. This was anything but scripted he said on the Live that he was sober but he seemed like he meant in comparison to the people around him. This wasn't orchestrated, he said this off hand while talking about being down in the Dominican Republic with his people. Most of the thing was just Dame thanking people for birthday wishes and talking to his brother or cousin who had busted his face up because he was drunk and dove head first into a five foot pool and fucked up his face. The "love for PDX is bullet proof" thing was an off hand comment that took up probably less than one percent of the time I watched and I didn't stick around for the whole thing.
Oh and by the way for all of you who are into the dude's personal life, he said he couldn't be getting as drunk as some of his friends because he's a father and a married man.
I wish everyone could stop demonizing Dame. The dude is a highly motivated business person that has set a goal to get to Miami. The tactics that him and more so his agent are using might not be the smartest and they might not be what's best for the team he's still on but I don't blame Dame for trying to do what he sees as best for him.
I honestly think it's pathetic that many of you, actually the vast majority of you, are so in YOUR feelings that you think that you should factor into this equation as fans. The decisions he is making are real life decisions for him with real life consequences... this is a hobby for us, we're fucking fans, get over yourselves.
I'm always going to cheer for Dame he hasn't shit on us as a team or city one time, actually just the opposite. He gave this front office ample warning about what would happen if they went young, they went young and he did what he said he would. Does that go against him saying that he WANTED to spend his whole career here? That's debatable. I honestly think the many times he said that he would only leave if the team didn't choose him, is in his mind what happened. He said choose me or choose a youth rebuild and the team very obviously chose a youth rebuild.
This isn't me saying that Joe did the wrong thing, it's me saying that no one is the bad guy here.
Kobe "didn't win shit" without Shaq or Pau Gasol
DWade "didn't win shit" without Shaq or Lebron
Lebron "didn't win shit" without DWade, Kyrie/Love, or AD
this standard you guys are using to crap on Dame is bogus. How many rings would Dame/Giannis have won by now?
And you missed my point entirely and created some weird counter argument where I’m bashing on him because he couldn’t win here.since I said something similar just above...the context was 'crapping' on Dame because he "didn't win shit" in comparison with Kobe. I was simply pointing out that Kobe didn't win shit unless he had an all-nba player like Shaq or Gasol by his side and Phil Jackson as coach (when Kobe won his first ring, Shaq averaged 31 & 15 in the playoffs while Kobe averaged 21; Shaq averaged more points than Kobe for all 3 years of the three-peat). Lebron hasn't won without an all-NBA player or two all-stars by his side. DWade needed Shaq, Lebron, and Bosh to get him his rings. KG & Paul Pierce have one title between them and they needed Ray Allen and Rondo to get that one title. Giannis won a ring while having 3 other all-stars in the starting lineup with him
Dame hasn't had an all-star by his side since Aldridge, and Aldridge was a low-level all-star who was checked out on the Blazers half-way thru Dame's 3rd season. Dismissing Dame's talent because Olshey was an incompetent buffoon looks like crapping on Dame to me
I can understand not continuing to root for Aaron Affalo or Reef LeFrentz.....but DAME! The best player to ever play for this organization? A TOP 75 player ALLTIME?Im a fan of every player (cept for Ruben Patterson) who played for the team. I don't remain a fan when they leave, because they don't play for the team I root for.
Im not bashing on him as a player. I’m talking about his legacy with this city.
We are talking about being able to retain the love of the fans despite acting like an ass.
Kobe won rings. Dame did not.
Fans are much more forgiving and nostalgic about championship players and championship teams. Hell, we retired half the damn numbers from our won championship.
You completely missed my point.
You’re getting into the minutia of why he didn’t win. None of that matters. I’m talking about the fanbase as a whole. I think they would be way more forgiving if he had brought us 2-3 championships…….. like Kobe.I don't think I missed your point. Maybe you missed mine?
Saying "Dame didn't win shit" compared to Kobe ignores the context of management and ownership. Kobe had Shaq, Gasol, Horry, Fisher, Glenn Rice, AC Green, Ron Harper, Horace Grant, Lamar Odom, Andrew Bynum, & Ron Artest as teammates and Phil Jackson as coach
Dame had Aldridge & Matthews for a couple of seasons, and CJ for 7 seasons....and Stotts as coach. How many championships would Kobe have propelled the Blazers to if he had Dame's teammates and coach? My prediction is 0, meaning he wouldn't have won shit either
******************************************
by the way, I'm not defending Dame's 'Miami-or-bust' stance at all. I have condemned it but I also suspect there's some bad blood at work between Dame and Cronin/Vulcans
Fan of Raymond Felton? That's a first!Im a fan of every player (cept for Ruben Patterson) who played for the team. I don't remain a fan when they leave, because they don't play for the team I root for.
Fan of Raymond Felton? That's a first!
I've got them tied in my ex blazers I've disliked.I would take Felton over Ruben Patterson 7 days a week and 300 times on Sunday.
I don’t pretend to know Dame but many of you evidently know him and his hopes/dreams/fears.
what stocks should I buy?
You DONT know Dame. You arent his friend and never will be. Take a long look in the mirror and repeat “I don’t know Dame. I am not his friend. I don’t know how he feels. He most likely would not like me if he knew me. “
I only know he wants out and only wants MIA, evidently. I think that sucks for the Blazers organization. That’s all I can possibly know.
But keep telling yourself that because you follow him on SM you are best buds til the end.

Raping an underage nanny is an actual crime and quite a vile one. Being low motivation and eating too many cupcakes is neither a crime, nor particularly vile. It sucked for the franchise, but I mean come on.I've got them tied in my ex blazers I've disliked.
My dream is that we make an amazing trade for Dame that brings us a dynasty, and Dame only returns here when his team is playing us.My dream is Dame goes East wins a ring or three and then comes back to retire in PDX, or even better, to win ANOTHER ring as the backup PG on the tail end of his career as Sharpe, Scoot and ???? lead us to that ring, but Dame hit's some clutch threes that help us to win it all. I'm not super mad at Dame just hurt about how this has been handled (one team scorched earth media/whisper campaign e.g. won't show up for training camp GTFOH!), but Goodwin can eat a bag of dicks. People demonizing Dame are ridiculous people downplaying how fucked up what Goodwin is doing - I'm looking at you Blazerkor - are also ridiculous. IMO, the correct stance is we all love Dame, but Goodwin is the biggest POS agent I can think of.

It's the fact he hasn't done that very thing (which is SO easy), that just screams to me. How could he not even acknowledge the fans? He is getting incredibly poor marketing advice.Awesome post, and great analogy. I also agree Dame could have come out and said, "Look I love the fans, I love the city, I love the state. I will always cherish my time in PDX, but they chose not to build around me, a business decision, now I'm making the same business decision.". Or something like that. He also could reel in Goodwin a bit or a lot like an owner choking out his dog yanking on the leash.
Are there many people not acknowledging his incendiary talent? It seems to me the criticism of Dame has nothing to do with his play, little to do with wanting a trade where he can compete, and almost completely to do with dictating that he wants to go to Miami, but doesn't want our return to be too big so he can try to win a ring.since I said something similar just above...the context was 'crapping' on Dame because he "didn't win shit" in comparison with Kobe. He's for sure getting terrible advice and his camp is filled with egregious morons who think in rather blatant "Ends justifies the means" mentality of a rather nasty sort. Whoever called other GM's is just a real piece of trash. The one team demand was bad, but that was not only almost certainly false (Dame sitting out? BWAHAHAHA), but also just super, super shitty. Not sure how some think that's no big deal and we shouldn't be super pissed about that. It's the fact he hasn't done that very thing (which is SO easy), that just screams to me. How could he not even acknowledge the fans? He is getting incredibly poor marketing advice.
Yeah, that's an upgraded dream for sure. I meant to imply we build a dynasty around Sharpe and Scoot. I'm fine with Dame winning rings in the interim if he comes back and wins even more with us and retires in Portland. My dream is that we make an amazing trade for Dame that brings us a dynasty, and Dame only returns here when his team is playing us.
of course ..my disliked Blazer list is a small one. Off court reasons Pattersons actions were really serious however as a Knick Felton beat his girlfriend and threatened her with a gun...did community service in NYC to pay off his fine.had a restraining order...she wasn't underaged but he assaulted her violently. Ray was worse than just a foot dribbling jigglerRaping an underage nanny is an actual crime and quite a vile one.
