Dame to Westbrick: Bite me!

Last year, he should have made it over DeAndre Jordan. Jordan was the third best player on his team, but with Blake Griffin and Chris Paul both injured at the all star break, the league felt the Clippers had to have someone represent them at the all star game. You could also have made a case for Dame over Marc Gasol.

In 2016, he should have made it over Kobe, but that was the fans's choice.

But they don't take 12 guards. Which guards should coaches have voted him ahead of?

By pissing on Dame? I still think that's low. He could have worded it differently.
Easily. An "If PG isn't an allstar, then nobody is" type comment would suffice. But he had to go out of his way to be disrespectful and insulting about it. So glad RW isn't on my favorite team.

The contrast between the class, poise and leadership of Dame and the whateverthefuck Westbrook is, is bigger than the Grand Canyon.

There are no positional requirements for the reserves. Coaches usually try to balance the rosters, but its not a requirement.

Just last year, 4 of the 7 Eastern Conference reserves were guards. In fact, all of them were point guards (Isaiah Thomas, Kemba Walker, Kyle Lowry and John Wall).

The West only had two guards (Westbrook and Klay Thompson), but had THREE centers among their 7 reserves (Marc Gasol, Demarcus Cousins and DeAndre Jordan). Selecting another guard for the West squad over one of those centers would have actually given the West a more balanced roster.

So when a player comes out and talks about being snubbed twice, and it was pretty apparent not just by Blazer fans but the media as well, its him whining? So basically when anyone talks about something that they wanted but they didnt' get it, its whining. okay got it.
That's just it. Sure Dame has commented on his disappointment. So do a lot of other guys who don't make it. But it was much more the sports media and Dame's teammates pushing the narrative of Dame being snubbed than Dame himself.

Kobe for one....Klay Thompson for another...there are cases to be made for him getting snubbed for two seasons
Kobe was a fan vote, so that doesn't count. I couldn't agree more that there was a case for Dame. There is a case for someone every year

Actually there is, to some extent. 2 Backcourt, 3 Frontcourt, and 2 wild cards

Yes there is.

Ok then. Of the seven reserve selections last season, the West had five frontcourt players and only two guards. Within the rules, they could have had two more guards and two fewer frontcourt players - like the East did.

My point stands. Dame could have been selected over DeAndre Jordan or Marc Gasol.

They really need to televise this...

I think that was a punk move by the NBPA...

Sure, could have. My stance is he wasn't snubbed.

Easy way to fix this is to expand to 15 players. I get then the 16 player will bitch, but it's usually 2-3 players who deserve it that don't go

My stance is that he was subbed. That he was more deserving than DeAndre Jordan. Jordan was the third best player on his team and was only selected due to injury issues with both Blake Griffin and Chris Paul. Even Jordan was surprised by his selection (he'd already booked a trip to Hawaii during the all star break and had to cancel it at the last minute when he found out he'd made the team).

Now that the actual game is no longer East vs. West, they should just do away with all conference related voting/selection. Just pick the 24 best players, choose teams and play.

WAS has the same record as us, but got 2 all stars in the East. Yet, Westbrook is bitching about us getting 1 all star in the West.
