Dame is on IG live right now, drinking like a fish...

IF you trade Dame….

With Scoot and Sharpe I think you have to bring in a blue chip PF/C prospect in return.

Pick packages with meh prospects shouldn’t cut
It - ie anything Miami can put together

Do people look at the Nets' roster and think that it's closer to being competitive than Portland's is? Even taking Dame off our team, I don't think they're much better unless Simmons remembers how to play basketball.

I know he wants to play with his guy, but he's already got Grant (presumably) in Portland and there's a lot to be said for him continuing to plug away in Portland.

I think they have a better shot at signing free agents. But that might be why Dame isn't in a rush to leave.

Makes sense... unless Dame feels an actual betrayal, I don't see why he'd be in a huge rush to leave. Assuming Cronin told him (and/or his agent) something like, "We tried for Bridges. New Orleans wanted too much for Zion. We're going to keep trying, and we're going to bring Grant back." ... Dame probably feels invested.

Maybe I'm just being overoptimistic, but I think this team is pretty decent-to-good now, especially if we can add a big guy as a free agent to the rotate, and Dame will enjoy winning again, even if it's not necessarily winning a title.

Dame on IG live — what’s blasting in the background?

Will Smith’s Welcome to Miami

Why do people think we have to trade him to Miami? We don’t owe Dame in a way that we need to take back less in a trade to make him happy. We have made sure him and every other Lillard for 100+ years won’t need to work. I don’t understand anyone thinking we need to trade him exactly where he wants.

That's the situation we face and I agree taking some package of Herro + whatever would be unforgivable IMO. If we want to do right by Dame as he exits, thats fine but not to the detriment of the franchise. We need to target a young, all star level 4/5 if we can and if that means a 3 team trade with Miami and whoever then lets do it. But if our decision is to move on from Lillard I think we need to get the best deal possible.

So many vets end their careers trying to ring chase. Unless you're "The Man" on your team, if you run to another team to win a ring, win or lose, it just looks sad. I wonder if the Reggie Miller model isn't better for your legacy.

I would actually love watching Dame playing in Miami for a title...love the way they play the game. Would be interesting to see how he adapts to Jimmy's team.

If we trade Dame bringing Grant back is pointless. Since Cle wants a wing could we S&T Grant for Allen?

I really hope Dame retires a Trail Blazer. Even if he asks out and gets a ring somewhere else, then comes back to PDX.

Is it posted somewhere what the Trail Blazer’s money would look like if he does leave? I would think Grant would come back without Dame, so it seems like that would be a grip of money not on the books.
