Harden to Houston for a TPE, TPE and picks to us.![]()
I agree. Right now, I think he stays until at least the deadline. By then, IF Dame gets traded, we’d be walking into the Post-Dame era with Shae, Scoot, another lotto pick, and multiple future 2027-2029 1sts. That’s a strong foundation to start with, better than the Rockets or Pistons. The Rockets tanked a full year before landing Green, the Pistons longer than that for Cade I think. All I know is that IF you trade Dame, you'd better tell the other team to bring as many 2026 1sts to the table as they're able to. That's the draft you want to cash in on, not the 24 or 25 poo-poo platter.
Here's an idea
We trade Dame to Warriors, they trade us Looney and Wiggins and send Chris Paul to Philly. Philly sends James Harden to another team and we get to choose from whatever they're offering. Also could see Nurkic going to one of these teams to get more cap room for us in this trade
MJ didn't make varsity until his Junior year in HS and wasn't thought of as a top prospect entering into his Senior year. Going into his Freshman year at Wake, Tim Duncan was thought of as the least promising of their 4 incoming Freshman. Maybe the 2024 & 5 drafts will suck as badly as you are speaking about them, but it's also quite possible things change. Most guys are still going through lots of physical transformations at that age and many of the all time greats were late bloomers. All I know is that IF you trade Dame, you'd better tell the other team to bring as many 2026 1sts to the table as they're able to. That's the draft you want to cash in on, not the 24 or 25 poo-poo platter.
The crazy thing is look at the Nets' trade exceptions. They already had one for over 18.1M for the KD trade.Joe Harris gives Nets a $19.9 million trade exception. Guess it makes something like this possible if we ever move on to trading Dame. Jody probably loves the idea of saving ~25 million

IF Lillard asks out (only if) then I do think the Nets have enough ammo to appease POR. I would ask for Cam in addition to a shit ton of picks. But also not against Simmons provided he came with Cam or more picks.

PleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseA while back (before the lottery, obvs) I said that the only way we should keep Dame is if we got Wemby. Well, with the idea that a Wemby-Dame pairing instantly makes you a contender, how about this?

Why would San Antonio do it? Because (a) they have a history of poaching our franchise players, (b) Dame is actually the kind of person their FO would absolutely love, (c) they've also got a history of pairing great players at least a decade apart and getting a championship out of it (see Robinson and Duncan), (d) they also have a history of rebuilding around a young star on the fly, and wouldn't be afraid of the After Dame times, and (e) Pop's not getting any younger - they would like to contend ASAP.
The biggest barrier is probably that they really like Sochan. But so do I, so I want us to get him. He plugs multiple gaps in our lineup at once. And hey, the Spurs can probably get Grant when they get Dame, because we won't need him once Dame goes (or we can bundle him with Dame)

Please give me this...

Look I don't get much into the hypotheticals and trade stuff because I know this trade isn't gonna happen but if I was wearing pants right now they'd be tight af.
Probably a hard sell to convince Dame to go there.
"Hey dame, guess who has a better culture and history than the heat"
Done.
“Hey dame guess who doesn’t have a trade approval clause in their contract”"Hey dame, guess who has a better culture and history than the heat"
Done.

I am gonna start posting in here and not muck up that main thread anymore. I like this direct trade with Brooklyn right now as my favorite:
I also like this BKN direct haul I will just do thumbnails:
Brooklyn gets Dame AND Simons (oh I love this part)
We get Ben Simmons - he can play point forward as a facilitator, or as the primary ball handler off the bench, or he's just a MASSIVE expiring that might net a 1st in 2025, it's up to him if he wants to try and actually be a player in this league again.
Spencer Dinwiddie (expiring and might net us a first at the deadline)
Royce O'Neale (expiring)
Noah Clowney 6'10" PF Noah Clowney a one time lottery pick according to many scouts who slipped out of the lottery.
Dariq Whitehead a 6'7" Rookie SF
We also get six first round picks.
PHX 2025,27, and 29 1sts
Philadelphia's 2027 1st
Dallas 2029 1st
Nets 2029 1st

I don't see Ant willing to come off the bench, do you?No reason to trade Ant now...they need his shooting off the bench
