On top of that he got a technical for complaining. That started the comeback for Portland. He also didn't run enough time off the clock on the next couple of possessions and missed a critical FT at the end. Poor game management right there. A smarter star would not have allowed his team to lose there."

Stotts is awesome. He really gives it to the refs, I think he said (lip reading on my part) "That's fucking bullshit" when Harden got the most phantom of phantom calls on Monday.

As gifted athletically as Westbrook is, and as dominate he can be.
He would drive me crazy if he was on the Blazers.
The mental mistakes he makes are the same mistakes a rookie makes.
Honestly he is gifted to be the #1 pg in the league and a top 5 player.
However with his low basketball IQ. He'll never be there.
Honestly I seriously have to question if he's even in the top 5 pg discussion.

Yeah I think he does it the right way and the right amount of time. Some coaches are too passive (Nate) and some are too constant (Doc) Stotts was a little too passive his first year, but he has it down now. You have to fight for your players or they will end up getting T's. The bottom line is it works. If you do it in a respectful way the refs will listen and you might get a call in crunch time that you want not otherwise normally get.

The T on Westbrook was huge and quite frankly questionable. I doubt the refs calls it in a closer game. But down 10 the ref probably thought it was over, so why not make a point? Turned out to be a game changer.

Rookie/Ego. It doesn't matter.
Bottom line is the same mistakes he makes are plays he shouldn't be making anymore.
He's been in the league how long? It's time for Westbrook to grow up.

Rookies/young players can get away with the mistakes he makes. Not NBA Veterans.

Interesting stat, last year, Lillard was really bad at finishing in the paint. He got better after the all-star break, but I remember seeing a stat how he was one of the worst finishing PGs in the league.

But this year, his FG% in close is better than both Ty Lawson and Russell Westbrook, two guys who make their living there.

I can't remember which poster said it but he's been silencing every criticism. He was a bad defender, now he's good. He was bad at finishing around the rim, now he does. He's not an assist PG, now he ups his average every year.

Frankly, I welcome all criticism because he's listening and silencing them all
