What the fuck is this? An idea for a Twilight Zone episode?

...rumors are his off-court life is turning a bit upside down with a real divorce from his wife/baby's momma :dunno: this type of situation would certainly explain the emotions if true
I thought it was odd how much time he spent on Ig live this off-season, usually with his kids, never with his wife.

Dame has lost family members and if he's losing his marriage, the Paris/South Beach tour must have been him chasing something other than a ring...it's out of character for Dame to throw his teammates and coach under the bus as if they can never win. I hope he fixes his life and with 3 kids...that starts at home. Dame is also infatuated with boxing culture and that's a sleazy world in my view. A lot of boxers live in Miami. Talk about bad choices...Dame seems to be making them.
At any point, he's diminshed his image in my world and that really sucks.

If true, certainly sorry his family life is rocky.

Thank you @maxiep for articulating that. It is VERY strange and feels like a bad script from TV.

It is really not strange at all.
Cronin lied to him, didn't treat him with the respect he deserves, and backstabbed him. I'm sure he loves Portland, but at some point it's very understandable that he can't let that happen without consequences.

Care to detail that further?
Cus right now my emotions are dismayed, despondent, and disillusioned. #wheelsup

Cronin didn't have a chance to go after free agents, Dame demanded a trade just as we signed Grant to please him....he essentially threatened the stability of the franchise and still is...it's a chump move...GMs have to work fluidly and adapt to opportunities at the drop of a hat. Joe doesn't have to help Dame or Miami get a championship and Dame isn't a free agent or a GM..he's not working with the team for a win win...he's throwing the team under the bus to get what he wants.

Dame only stayed on last year to get the max extension and the scoring title.

Why wouldn’t he demand letting Nurk and Ant walk if a title with POR was so important?

Cuz Ant and Nurk are the core of a contending team? No because he wanted his friends to get paid. That fact was more important than a title in POR.

You might say “Dame don’t have that pull!” Wrong. Wrong. Joe signed his boy Grant. Twice, in fact. And let’s just say Grant’s deal ain’t exactly the steal of FA. He wasted, if you will, a seat on the bench for his dopey cousin.

As told by... Cronin. I don't believe that shit one bit. Everybody wanted Scoot

He's throwing the team under the bus after the team threw him under the bus. Seems fair to me.

What does "everybody wanted Scoot" have to do with Free agency?
If you are talking about the draft, yes lots of people wanted Scoot, but they were not willing to give up anyone of value. OG was not worth Scoot, surely you agree with that. And it sounds like anyone better wanted Sharpe included (and Ant to match salaries)
Do you think including Sharpe would have been wise?
