Nope, I dont believe so. As Dame has said "none of this came from him". He owns the State of Oregon and that means a lot to him, for bigger things down the road.

Does he want to be traded to a team that could give us what we want? Do we trust Olshey to build the team after that trade?

Let's be clear about this. We're rebuilding if we trade Dame. No contender can help us with that. We need picks. lots of them. And great young players. No contender can help us there.

IMO, Dame is using the considerable leverage he has to force Olshey to swing for the fences.

The thing I keep coming back to is if Neil wants this heat. You're right Dame is worth more than his fair trade value due to who he is and what he's done as far as publicity. That being said, if Olshey wants to lower expectations (which would be so Neil) he could trade Dame and everyone else not named Ant and Nas for young pieces and picks. He would justify it by saying that Dame showed for the first time that he wasn't fully committed to the team so it was time to rebuild... if he got Simmons during the blowup he could even say that he did the rebuild around a younger superstar.

I hope Olshey isn't that slimy but I just don't know.

Sure they can

Dame to GS for Wiseman, Wiggins, 7, 14. We could trade 7 & 14 to move up or grab another young player from somewhere

Dame to Philly for Simmons, Maxie, Thybulle and picks

The right trades for our vets ends up with us eking into the playoffs and exiting in the first round, so why not do it and get assets

I wish I knew if the Blazers are being shopped at this point. I now people have said eventually once she takes care of Paul's Estate. Just the fact hat she's not addressing the public/fans on what her thinking is, leads me
to believe the team could be sold at any point. Im hopeful it will be too.

I think the days that you move into the top 3 with a couple later lotto picks are over. In a draft like this you can get superstar caliber player with a top 3 pick
 
Well, that is actually the first thing Dame's posted with him in a Blazer uniform since Terry was fired, and he's posted A LOT since then. :shrug:

As i posted during the game yesterday, that giannis win only reinforced his desire to win here.

highly doubt this has anything to do with any potential moves. i'd bet anything it's triggered by giannis.

dame met with Chauncey and Neil a couple days ago. I would bet anything it had to do with free agency/trades/specific targets. We’d be naive to think GMs just sit at their desks until the eve of free agency. I’m sure calls have already been made, trades negotiated, etc. The team should have a good idea by now at least what is and isn’t possible in the next few weeks. And I’m sure Dame is aware of it as well.

yes but he waited 5 days after the meeting to post this? A seeming reaffirming of his commitment to the team? don't think there's that much depth to this.

think it has everything to do with the title that he saw giannis win 20 hrs ago
