There are many who believed then and continue to insist now that Damian Lillard was about ready to ask out; a source with knowledge of the situation believes Lillard is held back by both his loyalty to Portland and an unwillingness to go back on things he's already said about sticking things out. He ultimately decided to give this another go, and Lillard has been provided roster upgrades and had a big voice in the coaching search. He may still ask out down the road, but only time will tell how long this honeymoon lasts.

On the Lowe post pod, he repeated that there's nothing on the Lillard trade front and everything is status quo for now. But he once again hinted at the Knicks and their inability to trade the guys they signed until December as a reason Dame could possibly be quiet.

I don't like how frequently he has brought up NY in the past three months with respect to Dame.

At this point if he wants to leave he’s more than welcome to. We can’t keep having this discussion over and over again. Imo Dame has made it pretty clear where he stands, we should be good with that but if this uncertainty continues so be it he can leave. It’s not like he’s in his 20s anymore plus 3 years from now we’ll probably be happy we did it
