Zombie Damian Lillard to request trade in coming days (nope, he's not.) (2 Viewers)

With no evidence or follow up. It's a by-line to an article that is completely lacking in info.

sit back and think this through. Dame's camp is GOING TO request a trade apparently, but then let it leak to Henry Abbott of all people before coming to the team?

If Abbott's source is with Vulcan/Olshey, then why would they leak it?

If there's a trade request, then there's a request. This is prognosticating that it may happen in the coming days.

Makes very little sense.
Dame's birthday was yesterday so everyone in his family was around and look at the headlines that were going around nationally surrounding our franchise... I'm telling you that if Dame was on the edge... if he'd already given Olshey an ultimatum... then someone he loved showed him what was going on with OPB and that investigator that Vulcan fired but had been employing. The shit show that was yesterday and has been our M.O. just recently would push most smart people over the edge.

Shit..

Portland sports writers sure ain’t what they used to be. Not a peep and those who have spoke on this got their info from Abbott’s tweet.

Pathetic.

I will when dame does. You guys can have fun without us
I'll still be here but if Dame wants out right now it's more than understandable and I'll be following him and hoping for the best for him when it's not against the Blazers. GO BLAZERS!!!

Wow. I didn't know that Henry had contacts deep inside the Lakers organization....
(this is made up baloney, at least for now.)

Hopefully the people this news would break from respond then.
Hopefully Dame doesn't take the bait and he let's the shit mongers bloviate on without a response of any kind.

Dame does his talking on the court.

This kind of media fantasy makes Dame the legend he is. And he knows it!
The Wild WEST outlaws were made legends because of fabricated shit only to add to the mythical icon.
Dame Matters

I honestly don't think he cares about the Billups stuff. This is 100% on the roster construction and embarrassing end of the playoffs.
I you're right, that's a good thing because then nothing has changed since he reportedly told Olshey to build him a contender or trade him to one. So we'll have nothing to worry about.

I will say this though, the team trades him and it will be a monumental failure for the franchise. Like, massive amounts of fans stop caring about the team levels of carnage.
I suspect that has already happened to some extent, due to the team’s support of certain political positions.

...wondering if any of this has to do with Space Jam 2 -- crafty marketing ploy!? :dunno:

He has no idea!! Henry was making this up, look at his reply to Nurk

I don't think Abbott is admitting that he doesn't have the source that he said he has in the article. I think he's telling Nurk that he heard it from someone close to Dame, so if Nurk hasn't heard the opposite out of Dame's mouth then Nurk doesn't have what he does.

That's a lot of reading between the lines. Not saying Abbott is right or wrong, but there's nothing in his response to Nurk that implies what you took from it.

I'll actually feel really bad for Nurk if he's wrong here.

He definitely isn't giving ground that would suggest he's backing off of having a source within Dame's circle, like he says in the article. The stuff about what he means in addressing Nurk is total speculation by me.

I just found an article that says this:

Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus suggested there is a slight hope the Lakers could snag Lillard via a sign-and-trade with Talen Horton-Tucker as the centerpiece.

“If the Blazers are a believer, the Lakers could have some traction,” Pincus explained. “Horton-Tucker can earn up to about $33-$46 million over three or four years via sign-and-trade. Portland would have a team salary limit at roughly $143 million for the 2021-22 season, which should not be an issue. The Lakers would need to include additional salary, starting with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Kyle Kuzma. Others, like Montrezl Harrell (if he opts into his final year at $9.7 million) and Alfonzo McKinnie ($1.9 million, some of which would need to be guaranteed) could round out a deal, especially if the Blazers were willing to include center Jusuf Nurkic, who notably told a Bosnian media outlet if Lillard is out, he’s out.”

LMAO.

How can you say shit like this and still have a job.

Nurk wouldn't be the first one that happened to, if this is the case. We don't remember all the guys that denied their player/teammate was involved in trade talks because it happens so often. It'd be more a bad on Dame, if anything, but Nurk still'd be getting well paid and have a long career regardless.

Yeah.... I can't imagine Dame would do that to him.
If Dame talked to Nurk early in the day yesterday and then was exposed to the investigation/investigator shit storm when hanging out with his family. Told his family about his plans and one of them leaked it... I just don't see why Dame would be calling Nurk with that new development.
