Tie breakers are based on winning percentage. We are solely in 9th right now. We control our own destiny. If we win all our games, it doesn't matter if New Orleans wins all their games too. We would place ahead of them.

do the math

Portland goes 8-0 they are 37-37; that's .500

New Orleans goes 8-0; they are 36-36; that's .500. The Pels win the tie-breaker because of the season series

similar thing would be true if it was Portland and Sacramento going 8-0. They'd be tied in games behind and winning percentage, the two teams are 1-1 in the season series, but the Kings win the tie-breaker because of a better conference record

Ok you are right. Only if Pelicans or Kings are 8-0. If they go 7-1 and we go 7-1, we’re in.

Guys guys...the only team that might go 8-0 are the Bucks

Nah, My "not happenin" is about the season and actually having a team cross the finish line and get a ring. Though my definitive stance is now wavering. :) With regards to the Blazer's, its a brutal schedule and I dont know if I would be hopeful normally, but the way things have come to be, I am actually hopeful and believe that if the season does complete, we will see ourselves in the playoffs.

But we should drop the not happenin. I mean a good person actually got so pissed, he left the forum because of it. Had no idea it could piss off so many so quickly.
By the way, that whole thing was funny when you were doing it. At first it was obviously what you thought would or should I say wouldn't happen (as you know I disagreed with you) but then you were just making a joke out of it by overstating and repeating it. What pissed me off was the guy that just started harassing you. You might have done your thing maybe ten times give or take. That guy was all over the place in here and he had to have approached posting your moniker like 50 or more times. Him filibustering this forum was offensive.

I was legit tossed off guard by his last comments as Id never had an issue with him in the past and have always considered him a good person based on his posts. Better than I anyhow. LOL

Some people find different things funny. Sometimes I need to remember i'm not funny to everyone. Sometimes I need to remember Im only funny to myself. LOL.

It's great that you're taking the high road and I'm not trying to beat a dead horse. That being said, I wasn't really all too familiar with his posts before but his annoyance with what he didn't find funny was way overblown and to be honest his meltdown and massive amount of posts was just really too much for me... not so much that I'd leave the site, I mean I did suffer through JET on OLive back in the day.

If Dame is not healthy, these 8 games gonna be a desaster

Too bad they will now have to play teams that play good defense and have been playing their defense as a team for a long time. A lot different that what they play against in practice.
Us scoring is not going to be a problem. With Dame and Nurk running their two man game, with both CJ and Melo available to iso and hopefully hit open threes and Zach cleaning up down low, the starting lineup should be good to go on O. Gary and Hassan can also score off of the bench and I'm interested to see if Nas can contribute on offense as well... hell maybe Ant will even show up. No, offense won't be our big challenge. Defending the perimeter however is a scary prospect. We better stay up on three point shooters, if we can do that then we should win a good amount of games but that is a big if. I think we can stay up in the faces of other team's shooters and let our really good defensive bigs clean up when our perimeter defenders get blown by but Dame, CJ and Melo really need to commit to stopping the three. Our bench has much better defenders on it so if the starters can do their part then I think we will win enough games to get into a tough first round match up with the Lakers.

I wonder whatever happened to Jet? I think I left Olive right around the time he moved in with his sister in Utah. I felt bad for his sister.

Yeah that guy couldn't have been happy and he seemed to revel in bringing others down with him. I hope his sister is alright.

Haha I thought this same exact thing

A Melo isolation? That's so inefficient that it doesnt help us score at a high clip overall.

Our good defensive bigs will likely be in foul trouble due to how much they have to clean up.

Guarding the 3 is not as simple as getting in their faces. What about rotations and getting through screens?

The thing is, it seems like our offense will have to score 125 points to win. That's definitely a challenge.

I do tend to oversimplify but our offense will be potent with a lot of options especially in the starting lineup. I don't think we will give up 125 points per game. Replacing Ariza in the starting lineup with Zach doesn't add up to giving up ten more points a game (I realize acting like switching a wing defender for a post isn't a simple plug and play but it remains the reality of this situation). As far as rotations and getting through screens go, that's been a huge problem for us for a long time and we still haven't been giving up 125 points per game. I guess we'll see on Friday if our offense is really that good and if our defense is really that bad.

Couple things your missing:
1.) Were playing better than average teams so using average opponents PPG to project our opponent PPG in the bubble is underselling jt.
2.) Part of replacing Ariza with Collins is moving Melo from the 4 to the 3 which makes things worse as well.

Couple of those teams even won a couple of those "Practice" games. Of course i know that doesn't matter at all.
