RocketsCan we make our own "Worst Teammate Award"? Oh wait, I guess that is just the Sacramento Kings.
Every team has a Best Teammate Award, it's almost like Special Olympics.
Here is why I think it is still a bit of a big deal. Dame is one of only roughly 3 guys on that list that is both the teams best player and best teammate. It starts at the top with us. That is a rare and great thing.
I think the Rockets will surprise people this year.Rockets

Who will have more of a one man show. Houston or OKC?
I see Harden and Westbrook competing for the scoring title now. Winds for their team however? Meh.. low 40's at best.
Cool. In other news my son got a participation award in baseball last week
I don't believe in them AT ALLNot gonna brag about your own participation award from this thread?
30 players out of hundreds is not a participation award by any reasonable measure. It's not league MVP or MIP level or even AllStar game level, but the importance of the individual teammate and how they can improve morale and other non-stat ways shouldn't be underestimated and undervalued.
All of us have worked with and played with people that make the group perform better by their actions and mere words just as we all know people that are toxic to group success.
This is a more significant reward than some of us are considering.
My 2 cents.
Significant? He got an award for being the best teammate on the team when he's the leader. Its like giving a student with an IQ double everyone else's a yearbook award saying "Smartest Student"30 players out of hundreds is not a participation award by any reasonable measure.
