...is coming to camp.

(I see this news is old - I looked for a thread but I assume somebody posted it somewhere?)

Wonderful news! Darius Morris! Life is good.

Just noticed how excited the mods are, keeping 2 threads going. That verifies that this is the big news of August, 2014.

I love seeing D league guys like this come challenge the bottom of the bench roster guys in preseason. August sucks for NBA news but this signing I like. 51pts and 18 assists in a D league game is still impressive.

The other thread is from 2011. We don't want to merge them and give everyone time disorientation. People might think it's 2011, and do something harmful to themselves like campaign for Mitt Romney.

(The Mitt Romney joke was discussed among all admin and everyone, including Denny, was on board with it being a proper reflection of admin views.*)

Ever notice that Darius rhymes with Morris, and Denny rhymes with Romney?

One syllable, not two. Just saying.

I thought Morris had a shot at making it coming out of college. I like this pickup a lot. We get to check him out at no-cost.

Hopefully he gets a fair shake.

It seems very "spur style", using under the radar players to build a solid core.

When we owned our D-League team, there was a reason to sign these guys. Now, not really.

Okay, Allen didn't own the Stampede, we just had an agreement.

51 and 18, and he likes to drive to the freaking hoop AND can shoot? Jesus, I hope he makes it.

On paper he seems perfect for our 3rd string PG . Good size, good passer, good vision, good attitude, and an improved outside shot. This is the type of sleeper I was hoping for. We have our seasoned vet with Blake, we needed to go after a younger player who is desperate to make any team. He is not a defensive stopper like some wanted, but he is not a bad at it either.

Unless a better PG gets cut late in fall camp, I think Morris will make the team.
