in the past 6 months, we fired the coach & GM, and the president resigned. that's anything but a holding pattern. It’s been a multi year holding pattern

exactly what i was thinking. if anything these developments of the past few weeks has been a positive. we're getting a new guy at the helm who could steer us in multiple different directions, while dame remains fully committed. i'd say these were all positives. One that just ended, during with we got to see dazzling performances from Dame. I just don't see how it compares to the Telfair days. I don't see how it's worse than when we saw Roy and Oden's knees cripple a promising future that was likely a dynasty. I don't even see how these are darker days than when Clyde was traded for Thorpe and this team endured for a period of time led by Cliffy and not much else.
As far as not having direction... both having three GMs in under two years (4 if you count Chad) and Nash/Patterson felt more fucking rudderless than this transition of power. Maybe it's PTSD from those experiences that have people projecting a lack of direction upcoming but I think the clouds actually just parted.
cronin/hankins/billups are holding a press conf tmrw at 10 AM.My fear is this could lead us to our darkest days. My biggest fear is they decide to move Blazers to Seattle. I don’t like how there’s not anyone in upper management or owner who is talking to media/fans. That’s never a good sign
I don't worry about them moving...they won't ...they own the Moda and don't lease it...they're not giving that cash cow up for a city to compete with baseball and football for fans and ticket sales....Portland is a profitable franchise right now with a vibrant fan base. They could invest in a G league franchise in Seattle....we need a G league system to develop our rookiesMy fear is this could lead us to our darkest days. Nah,
The darkest day was trading for Raymond Felton

the fears of seattle are completely misguided in 2021. Adam Silver is not going to let that happen, and the contracts with the city are set in stone.
Gaslit you again! Bwahahahaha!!!Darkest days? Nah, way misleading thread title.
You're thinking of dark meat, as in the greasy part of the turkey.Nah,
The darkest day was trading for Raymond Felton
The Telfair days gave us something this team has never really given us, and that is hope. Multiple firsts is great. Contending is great. This is the worst possible scenario. Going nowhere with no hope. One that just ended, during with we got to see dazzling performances from Dame. I just don't see how it compares to the Telfair days. It’s been 9 years of this shit. THAT is a holding patternin the past 6 months, we fired the coach & GM, and the president resigned. that's anything but a holding pattern.
I think Norm is a legit starting 2 on a championship caliber roster. I think we can get a lot better by trading CJ, RoCo, Nurk and future picks. Not more talented, just a team that makes sense with Dame, Norm, Nas and Ant as the players who are good enough to significantly contribute to a contender. The Telfair days gave us something this team has never really given us, and that is hope. Multiple firsts is great. Contending is great. This is the worst possible scenario. Going nowhere with no hope.
Dame is great, but after that?????
Where is the "I hate this, so very much, because it is true" button?I think the difference is now we don't have Mike Barrett talking about how Ha had put on 15 pounds of PURE muscle and was developing at a quicker pace than Yao Ming was, and that Vlad the Impaler Stepania was dominating the local Y.
It's harder to have hope when we aren't hearing about how Keljin is throwing it down in practice and it's literally moments away from being the next Billy Ray Bates and Michael Ray Richardson rolled into one guy!
You're thinking of dark meat, as in the greasy part of the turkey.
Nate getting fired...Oden crumbling to dust and Roy on bone to bone medical retirement to turn around and sign for two years with the wolves....Raymond Felton jiggling and dribbling the ball off his foot since he couldn't see his feet....Jamal Crawford trying to be a pt guard....Luke Babbit getting the crowd Chalupas.....that was the toughest Blazer season ever...the Kaleb Canales "hard hat lockout" season....nothing tested my interest in the team like that season...even the Telfair era.....
it was bad but not anything like the lockout season....I seriously almost gave up on the team that season...I was still cheering for every other chapter of the Blazers..OMG dude! The Telfair era was WAAAAAY WORSE!
I was around when the Walton team crumbled. Blazers were the champions and 50-10 the next season. Walton got hurt again. Lucas did too. Walton's was serious, then he signed with the San Diego Clippers while suing the Blazers. In 1977 they won a championship and had a dynasty in hand. 9 months later it was all gone
those were dark days
If you were an NBA team, what would you give up for CJ, Nurk or RoCo?I think Norm is a legit starting 2 on a championship caliber roster. The lockout season is weird, because that late December before any games were even played so utterly destroyed the soul that it didn't matter that bad news kept coming.it was bad but not anything like the lockout season....I seriously almost gave up on the team that season...I was still cheering for every other chapter of the Blazers..
Porzingis would help usIf you were an NBA team, what would you give up for CJ, Nurk or RoCo?
I wouldn’t give anything that would help Dame for any of those guys
Honestly if I were the Sixers I would very quickly take CJ and RoCo for Simmons. CJ is much better at what they need than the combination of Seth and Maxey let alone one of them. So they could keep those two on the bench, start a defender (Shake or Thybulle) with CJ and have RoCo off the bench which would be huge for them. RoCo, for their style of play is much better than Niang. They just get worlds better with that trade and we get the athleticism, length and defense we need... along with inside scoring, ball handling and passing. If you were an NBA team, what would you give up for CJ, Nurk or RoCo?

The brain defend itself as best it can.No. It'd be somewhere in that time frame when Darius Miles was our best player and we had Khryapa and I can't even remember who our GMs were ... those years still are a blur. I don't even drink and I still don't completely remember them.
