I think VC would love it, getting the rock, creating and playmaking....RJ's the leading man, VC the creator and playmaker. You have points in Farmar or Barea/Williams who can hit the jump shots.

Not really relevant, but all I can say it will be much easier -- yes EASIER -- for me to root whole-heartedly for the Nets once Kidd is gone. I respect his basketball abilities (overrated as they are in some circles). But it's very hard for me to overlook the increasing black marks on his character and off-court persona. I'd rather root for a poor player with great character any day than the reverse.

Seriously though, in terms of off the court stuff, doesn't RJ do charity work, and donate money a bunch.

I think Carter wants to honestly stay here as long as he is allowed to contribute on the court. I don't think the whole "desire to be a contender" thing is there anymore. If it were Kidd probably wouldn't be looking to bolt.

I love RJ. As a person, he is my favorite Net (although Carter, warts and all, is still my favorite basketball player). But Kidd's presence on the team, especially since the latest round of accusations about his behavior in a night club, makes it very difficult for me to actually want this team to succeed.

Dave D showed some real anger towards Kidd in that one. I would disagree that he's been dogging it or doesn't care. When he's on the court he plays hard and gives effort. It's just that his shot has been way off even for him. And he hasn't looked too drive much. That's the biggest criticism you can make of his game this year, he never goes to the hoop. And that's more because he can't finish like he used too, I think.

He was 27 back then. There were questions about his effort, but not about his ability.

Now there are questions about his effort and ability.

You've got to assume that if Kidd isn't traded soon, there's going to be some real tension there. That's kind of a big risk dd took.

Wow, Peter Vescey (not known for understatement) has chimed in ripping Kidd. Though Vescey can sometimes be a d***, I have to say I enjoyed this commentary:
