Negotiations between the Knicks and David Lee are "nowhere new," Lee's agent, Mark Bartelstein, told CBSSports.com Monday.

"There's a possibility a one-year deal could happen," Bartelstein said. "We're not ruling anything out. If it's a one-year deal, we'll try to get a one-year deal that compensates him for who he is.

This basically means no one is looking to overpay for David Lee.

I'd welcome Lee for 1-year anything as long as it doesn't affect "the plan".

Not necessarily. Teams who had cap space already spent their money elsewhere and didn't want to commit an offer to Lee knowing the Knicks had the right to match it.
