That sucks.

On a semi related note, I never knew he was gay (nor does it matter to me that he's gay).

Huh? The article says nothing about his sexuality.

I suppose not, but you didn’t say you had found other articles about him. You seemed to be reacting to this article.

What part of 'ON A SEMI RELATED NOTE' confused you?

Semi-related to the news of his death?

I thought it was confusing to bring up his sexuality.

Yeah, semi related since he died, and he was gay. Like if someone famous dies, and you do some looking into their lives and find out they gave away their earnings to charity, or they adopted children from impoverished areas. It's interesting and is "semi related" to the actor, and their death.

Had he not died, I wouldn't have looked into more about him (I knew he was from Oregon, but I didn't know he died and lived in Newport). So I found out this information.

It's not like I said "ZOMG guys, I found he was gay! That's so gross! Can you fucking believe it!?"

I said I never knew he was gay. I know we all want to be like "ones sexuality shouldn't matter", but that would be relevant had I brought it up in a tabloidy way. I read some of his bio, and found out that he feared he'd get some backlash for being gay, and hid that information for a long time (not coming out until 2009 iirc).

Tl;dr

Oh. That sucks. He was a fantastic actor.

I didn't like the earlier MASH episodes with Frank as much. I think the TV series peaked with the addition of David Ogden Stiers, Harry Morgan, and Mike Farrell.

RIP

Well the way I look at it, I did not know the man was gay. I do not ask for or seek this information.
If he wanted me and or us to know, it would be for him to say.
Not sure why you needed to post it.
