New York Giants running back David Wilson will not play Thursday night against the Chicago Bears due to a neck injury he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, coach Tom Coughlin said after Tuesday's practice.

Coughlin called Wilson "week to week," which indicates the injury could linger into Week 7 and possibly beyond, but Wilson was officially listed as out for this week when the team released its injury report Tuesday afternoon.

Lack of depth on this team is showing its ugly head.
Shame on Giant management & coaching staff.

David Wilson to see neck specialist

New York Giants running back David Wilson is scheduled to meet with Dr. Robert Watkins in Los Angeles on Monday to have his neck injury examined, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Wilson is expected to be sidelined at least a few weeks. The timetable for his return might change after Watkins examines him and makes a determination.

The running back has already been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Chicago Bears. On Tuesday, Giants coach Tom Coughlin called Wilson "week to week."

This guy has stunk this year. Expected big things too. Andre brown to the rescue?

Andre Brown would break his leg blowing his nose. The guy simply can not stay healthy, and therefore can not be counted on.

No neck surgery for David Wilson

New York Giants running back David Wilson will not need surgery on his injured neck at this time, and there remains a chance he could return before the end of this season, a source confirmed to ESPN.com.

Wilson is likely to miss at least three or four more weeks due to the injury, and the plan is to re-evaluate at that time.
