What do you guys think about a trade that would send Taj Gibson and Keith Bogans to Portland for Rudy Fernandez and Jeff Pendergraph?

I'll take Taj over Rudy and jeff dunno about anything bogans

Gibson doesn't do much for me. He's 25 years old and doesn't seem to be particularly good.

Not that I expect the world for Rudy, but... meh.

Bogans just signed with Chicago this offseason, so he can't be traded until December 15th. Don't really feel like waiting that long. Regardless, I can't see Chicago offering Taj for Rudy straight up. Pendergraph is gonna do nothing for them, so why wait 3 months to include bogans as well.

If we can't get a first round pick and are thinking of releasing Rudy for nothing than I would take Taj. He could be a decent backup PF. I think he is a much better prospect than Dante. That being said, I would rather hold out with Rudy and reevaluate during the season.

I'd do it. Taj would be the best rebounder on the team if we picked him up.

best rebounder on the team? no.

We had a better forward, and cheap. WHY did we let Juwan Howard get away?

projected out to 36 minutes, Taj averaged 10.0 boards last year for the Bulls. Using the same projection, Greg and Camby both averaged 12.8 while Joel came in at 12.6... Pendergraph at 8.7

for this hypothetical, barring injury I don't see either Bogans or Gipson likely to scratch out 10MPG and improving the deep bench isn't a high priority. Rudy is a rotation player on many to most teams. Dude can really shoot and has some offensive sparkplug skills. I don't support the move him just for the sake of it view at all. The team has the luxury of waiting on some Eastern conference team to develop a need and grab a late 1st rounder anytime... the 2011 draft doesn't arrive any earlier no matter when Rudy is dealt.

If he doesn't show up to camp (as threatened), how does that distract players that are there? By players being asked questions?

It also sets a bad precedence for future unhappy Blazers if management were to completely cave to his whim. Pro athletes are often entitled prima-donnas/Rudy won't be the last player who is unsatisfied with his role and wants out... nothing wrong with making the route he's chosen to take look less desirable.

I'd set my sights on a top 15 pick

Howard was terrible last year. He won't be better now that he's getting closer to 38.

Maybe Rudy's one of those players who plays better when he's mad. You know, wanting to kill management. To play with Rudy we should sign Sheed, to ramp up the voltage for our new team personality.

TERRIBLE??????

He single-handedly saved the season!!!!! And he loved being here and kept saying he wanted to stay! When our management rejected his love, he had his pick of teams (as long as he's so underpaid), so he signed with the team everyone wants to play for, Miami.

Without him bailing us out from the shocking loss of Oden, Przybilla, and Outlaw, we would have been Bottom 5!!! The only other big man we had was rookie 2nd round pick Pendergraph!!

And his position wasn't even filled this summer! We still have only 5 forwards, when 6 is the norm out of 15 players. If the same thing happens again--the injury-prone centers can't play--we AGAIN have only Pendergraph! And we pay him more than Howard!

We need experience! Don't you EVER insult Juwan Howard again!!@!@

Juwan wasn't cheap. Veterans that have been in the league that long are never cheap.

Don't get me wrong, I really like Juwan and was happy with him here. I would have liked to have kept him as well. I felt he brought a vet balance to the team.
