Should Olshey Trade For DeAndre Jordan?

The only way I can see a Jordan deal coming here make any sense is if we received an offer we like enough on Nurk that has us looking at C replacements. I dunno what that could be. Maybe a swap of Nurk and Aaron Gordon has Neil intrigued enough to look at short term C replacement?
I think Collins can be a PF, but maybe the organization views him as a C going forward, and the goal in a Nurk-Jordan sort of swap is to find a shorter stopgap, versus re-signing Nurk this offseason, and then having to trade him in 2 years.

Something like Orlando sends out Vuc, Gordon for Leonard, Nurk, Swanigan, and our 1st
LAC gets Aminu and Vuc for Jordan
We send Leonard, Aminu, Nurk, Swanigan, 1st for Gordon, Jordan(Gordon would be follow up swap for our TPE)
We basically swap out our PF/C rotation, with an eye on Collins being the COTF when Jordan leaves after next season(let's assume he picks up his option year, because of lack of available suitors this offseason)

it would be better if you put Nurk in the pool, like: "would you trade Nurk for DeAndre"

even if we can get DeAndre without giving Nurk, theres no way Nurk would stay here, he doesnt want to be a backup

That's my thinking as well, also we could use him the same way we used Camby defensively, just funnel everything to him and let him clean up messes.

Our defensive scheme it is almost required to have a guy like canby or chandler or dj. This conservative scheme was very successful in Dallas with chandler but while nurk is a good defender he can’t get to the ball like dj can.
 
What about Gallinari? He is a 6’10” SF/PF that can hit the three and pass... I know he is injury prone but is exactly what this team is looking for, and at the same time we can probably unload Turner in a trade for him, and not break up the core. I can’t think of a better player that will cost less in trade. Turner and 1st or Swanigan for Gallinari?

I’m only in favor of trading for DJ if it’s in a larger deal or a sequence of deals that brings us a starting caliber forward alongside Dame and CJ. Just switching Nurk for DJ is dumb and would seemingly only be done for names sake. It reeks of Neil thinking adding a big name like Jordan would appease Dame even though it would make almost no difference on our ability to compete.
 
This guy isn't up on our rules yet. I would cut him some slack and give him some time to assimilate. If in a month he is still like this then you consider more extreme measures.

Gallinari is no better than Matthews, more injury prone, makes more, and is under contract for more years. You blasted my idea of Turner and a 1st for Matthews, then suggest Turner and a 1st for Gallinari?! Lmao. Wow.
