Trade Dame. He's the most overrated player in the league. Fred Van Fleet went thru him like nothing. Often times Dame isn't even one of the best 10 guys on the floor. Volume shooter. Hits open 3's makes him look great. Gets paid 27 mil a year while everyone else does all the hard work to free him up for the launch. 108th in FGA. 4th in the league in shot attempts. That's what PA is feeding us.
Welcome to S2, we even enjoy comments like this that are about as stupid as one can get and make Strenuus look completely inept at figuring out basketball and trying to troll your way to an "edgy" narrative.

I edited this because that second part was a little too close for my taste.

Nurkic was a beast late last season, had a summer of Stotts-system indoctrination to unlearn his Euro style, and returned with a weaker inside game.

He got worse in almost all per-36 columns from his Portland games of last season. Except a tiny (0.7, not 4.0) increase in points, caused by the Stotts-induced worsening in FGA (which lowered FG%).

The 4 point increase I was talking about was comparing his Denver stats to his Portland ones, not comparing one Portland season to the next. Nurkic spent last summer in Bosnia, and has been worse at finishing around the rim from the start of the season. Stotts must be very powerful indeed to influence Nurk from half the world away. It looks to me that Nurkic's game is the same, but his lost weight has thrown his game off slightly. I think he needs to add some bulk (preferably muscle, not fat, but either would work), and slow down, stop rushing.

Regardless of the slight difference (some are better, some are worse) in Nurkic's stats from last Portland season to the current season, or the reason. I don't think any of the differences are large enough to state that Nurkic was a beast, and now he's not.

Gallinari is no better than Matthews, more injury prone, makes more, and is under contract for more years. You blasted my idea of Turner and a 1st for Matthews, then suggest Turner and a 1st for Gallinari?! Lmao. Wow.
Gallinari is 6’10 and can swing between SF and PF... which are the positions we are in need of. Wes is a 6’5” SG you want to play SF.... and Dame/CJ is already undersized backcourt and you want to go smaller?! Also Gallinari is 2-3 years younger.

LOL!

Here's the TOP 20 shooters in the league by 3FG%:

3-Pt Field Goal Pct
1. Klay Thompson • GSW .455
2. George Hill • SAC .452
3. Joe Ingles • UTA .446
4. Reggie Bullock • DET .445
5. E'Twaun Moore • NOP .437
6. Jayson Tatum • BOS .436
7. Al Horford • BOS .435
8. Marvin Williams • CHO .434
9. Darren Collison • IND .431
10. Buddy Hield • SAC .430
11. Dirk Nowitzki • DAL .429
12. Nikola Mirotic • CHI .429
13. Kyle Korver • CLE .427
14. Courtney Lee • NYK .426
15. C.J. McCollum • POR .425
16. Darius Miller • NOP .424
17. Paul George • OKC .422
18. Stephen Curry • GSW .421
19. Tony Snell • MIL .419
20. Otto Porter • WAS .419

For the mathematically impaired .455 < half.

Apparently, the ENTIRE league is overrated.

It still blows my mind to see Joe Ingles on that list. JIngles used to be a poor three point shooter, he's greatly improved simply through sheer hard work.

And you pull up some cockamamie stats as “proof” that DeAndre Jordan is declining ... how about he leads every player in the NBA in rebounding and fg% THIS YEAR... and do you even watch games?! DeAndre eats up a ton of space in the paint, he alters many decisions to drive in the lane... you talk about blocks per game being down... maybe you haven’t noticed the entire NBA is blocking less shots... the league leader is barely over 2 per game... you are not worth debating

Yeah, I have the lowest Bball IQ.

I'd rather have an undersized player that can defend than a 6'10 stiff who can't move his feet or even stay healthy. The biggest problem with being undersized is it hurts defense. But you're advocating for Gallinari instead of Wesley? Hah. And you do realize that players don't decline at the same rate, correct? When youve been through as many different injuries as Gallinaris been through, you're gonna decline faste r.

But yeah let's give up a 1st round pick to pay Gallinari $20M over the next 4 years (a year longer than Turner!) a year guy who's getting chubby, can't defend, and averages 47 games a season.

Stick to watching football.

He's improved every year he's been in the league, while also increasing his volume of 3FGs. That's significant improvement:

2014-15 3FG% = .356, 0.9 made 3FG/game
2015-16 3FG% = .386, 1.0 made 3FG/game
2016-17 3FG% = .441 (3rd in the league), 1.5 made 3FG/game
2017-18 3FG% = .446 (3rd in the league), 2.4 made 3FG/game

He's currently made only 12 fewer 3FGs than Dame and only 6 fewer than C.J., and shoots a higher 3FG% than both. He's among the league leaders in both 3FG% and made 3FGs.

I'm in the minority here but I like DJ, I think we'd really appreciate what he brings to the table if we landed him.
If we didn't have to give up more than Turner, Meyers, and end of bench parts, AND we managed to cut salary to avoid the repeater tax, I'd be fine with him coming off the bench and going back there in the fourth quarter. That would give us Nurk, Jordan and Ed at Center and Collins and Aminu (and possibly Vonleh) at PF. That's a major log jam though. I'm just not ready to give up players of value who fit the team like Nurk, Zach and Ed for someone like Jordan who is either going to be a cap buster or a rental.

If DeAndre still has the same impact on a defense them why has his DRtg risen from 98 to 102 to 105 over the last couple seasons?

It's not hard to lead the league in FG% when you only shoot a foot away from the rim. But you realize offense is a lot more than FG%?

And you refuse to address how much we'd have to pay him and his inevitable his decline is if it hasnt already started. He's pushing 30 as an athletic center with no skill. But you wanna pay him and Gallinari. Lmao.

Exactly.

Wow.

Shocking.

The O-Live board shuts down and this place turns in O-Live board 2.0.

This place went downhill, and in record time.
I have to say, we weren't on the O-Live board for a reason. As long as we can cut the quality posters from the herd, cull the rest and turn them into Soylent Green, it's all good.

If we were making another trade that sent out Nurk for a star wing or power forward, I would be okay with this trade.

I used to play basketball against his high school, not while he was there though, I'm way before his time. I did live around the corner from his high school when he attended it, and I voted there a couple of times. It pleases me to see him doing so well.

I wish but even Tyreke Evans is drawing the Celtics interest. 1 swear, there are no "nothing" trades in the NBA. You can trade a 5th round pick for a talented player in the NFL. In baseball, you can trade for a iffy starter relatively cheap and turn him into a valuable reliever. In the NBA, the talent is stretched so thin that everybody is after the same few guys.

I question that.

LA is always a destination and if the Lakers fail to nail down a good team in the next couple years, the Clippers may re surge quickly.

How much I would love for the Lakers to become perennial losers like the Clips once were. IF that happens, I think the CLips become the destination team of Cali. GSW has had their hay day and cant afford anything anymore. They will be great for a couple more season, but it will break down due to finances soon enough.
Players like LA, I don't know why. Regardless, LMA (and others) figured out that they made enough $$$ to just buy a house
there. No need to play there.

oh come on, I attacked the post not the poster the whole time.
like I said...we're all being traded before the deadline...Olive migration says the writing is on the wall...

in that case I demand the Patty Mills position of flag waiver like he was on the Blazers bench, not the good Patty thats on the spurs and actually gets playing time.

I didn't buy a Meyers jersey!

Dammit.

Crap. I have no rebuttal to that.

The dude challenged MY integrity. Over what ? A Dame remark. DING DING !!! We have a winner ! I didn't start it. This place is no better than O'Live. In fact worse ! Dudes go diggin' up old comments from other media outlets and throw them in your face ! DING DING !!!

And I have no idea what you are talking about.
