Decision on Sean Marks must be made in the next few days (link)

None of this can be true because according to many the writers at the O don't know anything

Marks is useless. I know we need that position filled with all the injuries, but there has to be a better alternative.

Well, I'm having hard time visualizing somebody worse.

I believe that Patty Mills' contract is also not fully guaranteed, so he's in the same boat as Marks....

Marks is low risk, (very) low reward. I'd rather see them take a chance on a younger player from the NBDL, like one of these guys:

Chris Johnson 17.1 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 3.1 bpg 0.502 FG%

Courtney Sims 18.4 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 1.4 bpg 0.593 FG%

Sean Williams 16.5 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 3.1 bpg 0.642 FG% has NBA level talent (or at least appeared to during his rookie year), but is a total head case.

Marcus Cousin 14.6 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 1.1 bpg 0.541 FG%

Exactly. With any of those guys, there is at least a chance that we find a dimond in the ruff. With Marks, we know we have a lump of coal.

Good list. I'd pick any one of those guys that can set a hard pick.

If we lose Sean Marks, that will be the end of the season.

Courtney Sims. After seeing him play at summer league this year, I stored his name in my mind as a big guy that can rebound, foul, and pick. Looks like he also scores a lot in the D-League, so I bet he can finish just fine. Chris Johnson is very very skinny. Sean Williams is crazy and I don't know who Cousin is.

At 27, Sims probably has the least "upside" of the bunch, but he's most solid - and it's not like were looking for someone to build around - just a big body to play occasional garbage minutes and as insurance in case one of our other bigs gets injured. He's probably the best fit for our immediate needs - and in all probability, significantly better than Sean Marks.

Sean Williams has the best stats, probably the most talent and biggest upside, but yeah, he's shown himself to be an idiot in the past. One would hope a demotion to the D league would teach the guy a little humility and help him mature. It may be a little soon for such a transformation, but it still may be worth trying the guy on a 10-day contract, or two, to see if he's grown up enough to consider for anything longer. If this guy was in college this year, he'd be a lottery pick based on his talent. Will he ever get his head screwed on straight enough for an NBA team to take a chance on him? Who knows. Still a 10-day contract is low risk and potentially high reward. If he's still an idiot, you just cut him loose after a 10-day contract, or two and move on to the next guy on your list.

I wouldn't have a problem with Sean Williams. What would he get upset about anyways? I change my endorsement to him.

After reading the article it's not that big of a problem after all even if his contract is guaranteed it's the vets min and we could still cut him and it would just cost PA a little pocket change. :)

Might be wise to do just that and see what other teams cut.

marks is a good locker room and practice guy. Hard to get more from the 12th man on a minimum contract.

Nice. An extra 700K. He's had an incredible career for someone who's never been a major contributor statistically.

Excellent news on Marks being with the team for the rest of season.

I haven't laughed at an NBA player even half as much as I have laughed at Marks this season.

Anything that makes me laugh is more then welcome to stick around.
