Kevin Klein the actor?lol He's a RH shot who plays about 19m a game. Had never heard of him.

They just weren't going to get more than that for him.

We just traded a 23 year old with one and a half bad seasons for an utterly average 29 year old with 4 more years on his deal after this one.... I'm gonna say this is a horrible trade.

I understand DZ is an RFA at the end of this year, but this trade is just flat out unacceptable...

Kevin Klein is a good actor. Don't knock the move until we know what roles he's going to play while under contract at the Garden.

I thought sather flees other gms in the trades? Can this Klein dope clear the crease at least?

I'm trying to rationalize this and I guess his cap hit isn't that bad, but this is another dman about to take the trip over the 30 year old line, with 4 more years on his deal. We all know Del Zottos ceiling is so much higher than this f'in avg dman with no offensive ability.

He actually looks like a decent player, good passer with two-way ability. For DZ it's not a bad move. I thought maybe they could've gotten a pick also but whatever. They needed a RH shot. Plus he's signed for a few years so it's added depth.

Time to rev up the ever hopeless fire glen train... Really hope this doesn't also mean he is looking to acquire rentals at the deadline.

Totally agree Mig. Utterly average average seems a perfect description. Listed at 6'1", 199. Without knowing him, I don't get it. Usually a minus player (can't count this year because the entire team is), average size, usually around 25 PM so probably not a big hitter or nasty, doubt he's extremely fast. On the face of it, this sukkks.

So how many of you still think Sather is sane? Totally clueless GM.

Who??? Here comes chuck with the "I told you we should have traded him 4 years ago when he had some value!" comments. :P

He'll probably contribute more than DZ had been, so let's give it a chance.

Kleins high in pts was 21 in 2011-2012... Dz has doubled that in 2 of his first 4 years...

I'm not going to sit here and say we should have traded him years ago or whenever, but scratching him so often this season absolutely contributed to this dreadful, dreadful return we just got. That was just dumb. All the league insiders were saying it, "His value is no longer what it was at the start of the season."

It's about fit at this point, DZ/AV weren't going to mesh, plus they needed some type of RH shot. If it somehow dosen't work they can use him in some other type of deal down the road.
