Last week, Rush Limbaugh actually said that he "hopes" President Obama fails to meet America’s challenges.

Jobs, health care, our place in the world — the stakes for our nation are high and every American needs President Obama to succeed.

Stand strong against Rush Limbaugh’s Attacks — sign our petition, telling Rush what you think of his attacks on President Obama. We’ll send Limbaugh your comments.

C'mon, are you even paying attention here? It's the DCCC. That's the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Explain how the DCCC is going to control the airwaves?
Explain how they have less of a right to their opinion than Rush does?

Asking people who disagree with Rush Limbaugh to exercise their right to free speech is controlling the airwaves?

That's a novel interpretation. I know you're trying to "stir up" Democrats, but you're not even making an effort here. ;)

nope, lazy shit by the dems to attack limbaugh. they don't even bother with the whole thing about the quote....they misquoted him:
Last week, Rush Limbaugh actually said that he "hopes" President Obama fails to meet America’s challenges.

actual quote:

Look, what he's talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don't want this to work. So I'm thinking of replying to the guy, "Okay, I'll send you a response, but I don't need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails."

all part of the machine.

The DCCC has no connection to actual congressional Democrats and the House leadership, err, ah...

Rep. Chris Van Hollen, Committee Chair
In December 2008, Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that Representative Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) will serve in an expanded role as Chairman of the DCCC and Assistant to the Speaker for the 2009-2010 election cycle. This marks Chairman Van Hollen's second term leading the DCCC.

In 2008, Chairman Van Hollen successfully guided House Democrats to expanding their Congressional Majority just two years after winning it. Under his leadership, Democrats gained 24 seats in the House in 2008. This marked the first time in history that a party won back-to-back wave elections. Read more >>

Rush is just an old schooler and is pissed there is a black man in office.
fuck him.

and Agent, your responses and view are just as opinionated and one sided as the stuff you linked, so whats the difference?

I imagine one difference is that Agent is a private citizen, while the stuff he linked is based on quotes taken out of context and then used by our elected officials to attack a fellow private citizen.

Well, one thing this attack has done is make me give Limbaugh a listen today to see what the fuss is all about. Apparently his show starts at 9am on 1190 KEX (former home station of the Blazers before the move to the Allen-owned KXL).

and this violates what again?
and the republicans have never done this?

I mean, this is all pretty standard political methods of getting things done, done by both sides countless times over and over.

I've actually never seen a private citizen who simply is expressing his right to free speech the subject of a campaign by a group of partisan congresspeople. I read it as an implicit threat against Limbaugh; why else bring it up? It's just a guy saying he hopes widespread governmental interference into the public sector fails. Maybe he's right, maybe he's wrong, but I don't think our politicians should use those words in any implicit threat toward a private citizen of the United States.

If Rush was just some ordinary "private" citizen, then I MAY agree with you; however, Rush is on the air, spewing out negative propaganda to anyone who tunes in and listens. I find him a threat to our country personally and I see no constructive criticism in his "talk", just downright negativity, doom and gloom. To me, he is no better than letting Bin Laden or some other America hater, come over and have a radio show to spew their 'crap'.

Ultimately it's all how its perceived by the audience on both sides. People hate democrats, people hate Rush. Big deal.

LOL. Like you don't listen to him every day. :biglaugh:

You are such a conservative shill it's not even funny.

Of course there is a connection. That hardly proves the ridiculous claim that the DCCC controls who is on the airwaves.

Especially since what the DCCC has threatened to do is to send a petition signed by citizens to Limbaugh. Pretty much the definition of totalitarianism, I guess.

Doom and gloom? That's what I've been hearing from Obama about the economy. Since when is disagreeing with the plan of a President who is "negative" by his own words about "sacrifice" a criminal act?

If you see bin Laden as on par with a guy like Rush Limbaugh, I don't think it's worth continuing this dialogue. Although I will say, both Obama and the Dems have put more words into attacking Limbaugh than they have toward bin Laden in the past week.

Bush and the GOP never went this far toward the many people who disagreed with them, so I guess you do have a point.

Really? You hear doom and gloom from Obama? LOL nice. The only thing Obama is talking about is repairing the mess your messiah put us in.

What is my view? That a democratic committee that raises money for democrats are pretty ridiculous to take Rush Limbaugh's statement totally out of context and use it as a political tool to attack him?

And he's "pissed" that there's a black man in office...and here we go with the race card. You can't criticize Obama because he's black I guess, typical liberal bullshit. right here folks. welcome to the new america.

Its a slippery slope to the fairness doctrine..... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairness_Doctrine

they'll keep on attacking rush then introduce this bill as some sort of justification.

What's your view? You just pointed it out right there in the response "Typical liberal bullshit" about the "race-card". You're telling me that Rush the staunch right winger that he is, isn't just a little apprehensive about a black man coming into his white power circle? Shiiiit, put the blinders on then? KThnx come again. Screw race, maybe he's just pissed that Obama may take some of his tax-cuts back; or show up his buddy Bushy.

and your comment about "welcome to a new America?" fuck- i'll take Obama's new america, because look at where we've gone the last 8 years, Straight down the republican's gold plated toilet. Get off your fucking high horse, your views and crew are old and done. I can't believe you still support that old regime of power by fear.

It's funny how all you republicans are screaming bloody murder in these OT forums now that there's a new sheriff in town, oh how the tables have turned. Yet Obama doesn't even have close the track record that Bush has, a track record scarred with terrible policies and orders, mind you.

I think Rush Limbaugh would be very happy with a President Michael Steele or a President J.C. Watts. I don't think color has anything to do with it. More likely, his opposition to President Obama is ideological.

nah, he just tapped their phones and put em in gitmo!

Okay. How many US citizens had their phones tapped and by virtue of that evidence were put into detainment at Camp Delta?

Um, the Democrats tried to talk this country into a recession. It took them five years, but they finally did it. I've never seen a group of people put their party before the country so much in my life, not even during Watergate.

There used to be the concept of politics stopping at the water's edge. It's been destroyed and the result is that the Democrats provided aid and comfort to our enemy by helping to fight their propoganda war. Those actions I have no doubt cost American lives.

I prefer limited government. I believe that people are better at spending their own money than the government is. While I admired and supported President Bush's prosecution of the War on Terror, his spending programs sickened me. However, President Obama is making President Bush look like a spendthrift. I'll be interested to see how President Obama's change in tactics work in the War on Terror. On that mark, I'll be rooting for him, because it's a war we need to win. However, I will stand up against any creeping socialism.

So you think that the DCCC should not be allowed to criticize Rush Limbaugh? Which country is this again?

This is politically motivated. They are deliberately misinterpreting and distorting Rush's words and statements to rally the masses.

It is typical libby bullshit. What does Rush being a "staunch" right-winger have to do with him being apprehensive about a black man coming into his "white power" circle. I don't listen to Rush that often, but your assertions are ridiculous. If you actually took the time to see what he said, he was criticizing Obama's embracing of big government programs and a socialist agenda.

But go ahead and just scream "Bush" and "Iraq" and call him a Klansman.
