Has anyone actually checked out Harris' stats this year? I know he's on a horrible team, but the guy is shooting 38% from the floor. Not 38% from 3, but from the floor.

He's shooting atrociously from 3 too. I think Harris is so vastly overrated by fans, it's not even funny.

We aren't trade Roy for Harris.

I have sources who say the Nets are no longer sold on Harris as a core piece on the team. If they can package him with an expiring contract or two and get a young All-Star in return, they might do it. If they knew they were getting John Wall, they'd surely do it. ESPN.com

Harris hasn't helped his trade value one bit since coming back from injury earlier this season. I'd do a deal for him because I have a feeling he'll be back for form in the 2010-2011. Buy while his value is low.

That's too low, which is why I offered a Rudy/Bayless and TO or Blake trade. That's two nice young pieces and an expiring.

It's always funny how certain players are made out to be significantly better than they are (Harris, Calderon, Maggette), yet their teams always suck, or their teams look to trade him and don't look back.

Calderon is one of those players, who for whatever reason people inflate his worth and think trading for him is a good idea. I'm not saying the original poster was thinking this, but it's funny how it happens so often.

These are the players I'm talking about, that fans either think would be "awesome" for the team, or come up with silly trades to get.

Yeah you may be right...I haven't seen that much of Calderon so maybe he isn't that great. Harris seems like a very clear upgrade at PG though, and he's young.

I'd trade Aldridge if necessary to get Devin Harris. It would kill us for this year, but in the long run it gives us an all-star caliber backcourt. Harris was known for his defense as recently as two years ago and should be able to play well throughout the next five plus years as a member of our core. It's easier to get a replacement power forward than an all-star level point guard.

thats crazy in my opinion. if Harris were a really great pg like paul or williams, then yes, but he is a scoring PG who is bad at scoring lately. He has not shown that he is capable of leading a quality team. I would make a trade for him and take a flyer, but not for LMA. I think about the most I would consider would be the bayless, rudy and blake/outlaw package. And I would not be thrilled with that.

He's at his best, perhaps the best defensive pg in the NBA. At Dallas, he was tremendous at the defensive end. Last year, in NJ, he showed his offensive ability, but he's not necessarily a scoring point guard in the Iverson sense.

He's not as good as Chris Paul or Williams, but neither is Aldridge. this is trading a borderline all-star for a one time all star. Trading the easiest big position to fill for the hardest small position.

Damn! I'd probably give them Rudy, Bayless, Outlaw, 1st for Harris and a contract (we'd probably need to add fillers).

Doubt we will be able to land him, though. But he is the type that would be nice next to Roy, imo. Doesn't need to dominate the ball at all, is very good at playing off the ball, as well as defense (when he wants) and getting to the rim (really fast).

We'll see... Harris is one of my favorite players for this team. I think he pushes us to contender status next year IF healthy. This year, if we get him soon (tough chance) I think we get home court in the first round.

Why does that matter? He won't be leading the Blazers... and NJ was his first opportunity to lead a team, and outside of Lopez, that team is TERRIBLE! One of the worst i've seen. He was a good fit in Dallas on good Dallas teams, just wasn't the leader (he won't be here either).

... there are very few 4s in the league I'd want to trade Aldridge (24 y/old) strait up for. His ability to guard both Big spots is nice. Having the inside/outside game plus bulk & athleticism to effectively blend with most any other decent 4 or 5 is rare. He's had few injury problems (and nothing of real concern to the weak spots knees/feet/back) while playing big minutes. Combined with an exemplary work ethic and he's a near perfect complimentary star. While it's easy to get any old replacement PF, it's exceedingly harder to find one who brings all LA's positives to a team.

Devin (26 y/old) is an all star level PG but there are downsides to having him as well. He's a poor outside shooter which doesn't project especially well with Brandon. His explosive/athletic style has had him injured a lot. DH is a talent for sure and I'd love to have him in Portland, but I'd pass on that opportunity if the cost is Aldridge and hold onto hope that Bayless can continue to improve
