Dermarr Johnson, KMart's teammate at Cincinnati, has been invited to Nets camp, along with Desmon Farmer, the No. 2 scorer in the D-League; Brian Hamilton, formerly of Louisiana Lafayette and the Utah Flash; and the often mentioned Julius Hodge.

This must make cpawfan happy.

But I still wouldnt get into a moving vehicle with him.

If DJ has his head on straight, he is the best player of that group. The thing that has surprised me with him, is that after all of the hard work he did to make it back to the NBA, he hasn't demonstrated that killer instinct / want it attitude that he use to have.

Is Rodney White out of jail? I'm surprised Kiki hasn't invited him

Fallen Angel II

Do you have to have had an automobile-related near-death experience to qualify for that definition.

Or have played with Kenyon?

BTW, I've told this story before, but one of my favorite college basketball stories involves Dermarr and Kenyon. I know that you (NI) remember the UC / DePaul game Kenyon's senior season.

UC was playing without their starting SF because he skipped some classes and Huggins' rules were that missed classes meant missed games. It was a huge game with UC coming in as a highly ranked team facing a loaded DePaul team with QRich and Bobby Simmons in Chicago. Plus, this was the closest game Pete Mickeal was going to play to his hometown and he had relatives that were going to be at the game. Because of that, Huggins put it up to a vote for the team to decide if this was the game they wanted him to miss.

Kenyon stood up in front of his teammates and said that the rule had always been that way and he saw no reason to make an exception. Now that the scene is set, flash forward to the game. UC is down and starts making a comeback behind Kenyon. Huggins puts Kenyon on Q to slow him down (he really was a hell of a player before the injuries) and has the offense start going through Kenyon. As the game is getting down to the wire, during a timeout, Huggins tells everyone that they aren't allowed to shoot until Kenyon has touched the ball.

Right at the end of the game, DJ gets an open look at a shot to win the game and you can see him hesitate before taking the shot. When asked about it later, DJ said he had to stop and think if Kenyon had touched the ball.

LOL. That's a cool story. KMart was crazy that season, but to demand that you get a touch every possession is kinda whacked out..

My mistake as I was typing while dealing with children. Huggins is the one that said Kenyon had to touch the ball.

Thanks for catching that

He's playing for Maccabi Tel-Aviv, so I'm guessing he's out. If he tries any crap in Israel, the IDF will demolish him haha.

Anyway, Dermarr Johnson used to be a good player, I'd like to have him on the team.

If Dermarr can show he can consistantly hit the 3 and play a little D. I say we take him.

Great story and video to go along with it Cpaw. Makes me appreciate Kenyon more than I already did. And I already really liked him and his character a lot.

I do remember that game. When the Nets got the overall #1, there was no doubt in my mind who they should pick.

I had forgotten Bobby Simmons played in that game.

As for DerMarr, he's started 136 NBA games. The rest of those guys have started 1...and that was Hodge.

This sets up the "First Annual Kiki's Fallen Angel Steel Cage Death Match"
