Deron will stay only with Howard

How so? He spent how many years in Utah before getting out of a franchise that has never won a title? Plus, there is a lot of buzz regarding the Brooklyn franchise, and their owner Ivan Drago seems willing to spend money.

I guess I don't see how Williams staying in Brooklyn is a bad move. It's at least a good of a situation as Portland, plus they have a GM and a coach, too.

Who on that team is as good as Aldridge? Who is their third best player? They might not even have a lottery pick this year. That team is going to be shitty for a while. I really don't think Howard will end up there. They don't have enough assets to trade for him and once they sign Lopez and (hypothetically) Deron, how much cap space will they have?

We have an young All-Star just coming into his prime, we have a ton of cap space, and at least one lottery pick this year (maybe two). I don't see how that isn't attractive.

Does Orlando have the assets to let Howard walk for nothing in 2013? NJ will get a Top 3 pick tonight, and it will be used in a deal with Orlando for Howard. If not, they'll still find a way to offload Brook Lopez and filler to Orlando for Howard. Orlando can't afford to let Howard walk for nothing after next season.

I really can't believe that people honestly believe that Portland has a shot at Deron Williams. Other than LMA, what is there here on the roster? Williams has already played with a Tier 2 All-Star in Boozer, and they never sniffed a title.

I didn't say that we have a shot. I said that we are a better situation than NJ and we are. The Blazers just happen to be located in Portland, Oregon and not Brooklyn. We have Aldridge and a lot of assets to improve the roster this summer, which is a lot more than can be said about the Nets.

I'm pretty sure Dwight Howard could get a place in Manhattan and get to the practice facility and games just fine. Hell, Drago might even give him a helicopter service to and from practice and games just to get him to become a Net.

Of course, if he moved to Portland, he could visit Mt. Hood to ski one day, and the Pacific Ocean to ponder life (or go crabbing?) the next!

.... what? I think your reading comprehension could use a little work. Reread my post.

It made sense financially to stay for a while in Utah. When he left he went for the best chance of winning? NJ? I don't think so. He went for the money. And when I say money, it is more than his salary. Players at his level pay their taxes with their NBA salary.

How did he go for money if he didn't sign an extension with New Jersey? Am I missing something here?

Money would say he stays with the Nets, but I guess I don't think Brooklyn as a franchise is all that bad, and they have some pieces.

How is Portland a better situation? Is Dallas a better situation, considering the miles on Dirk?

The shiny object called your signature makes reading your posts a fool's errand for me. Sorry if I missed your nuance. You're not interested in legitimate conversation with me.
