ESPN NBA - G Tyreke Evans to Pelicans, G Greivis Vasquez to Kings, C Robin Lopez to Blazers in 3-team deal, Marc Stein reports

Been trumpeting this one for a while, so needless to say, I love this move. Love the offseason so far. There were no HRs we were going to land, love the piecing of cap space to parts.

So just to be clear does this move signal that there is no chance or desire for Asik or could that still be a possibility? Just curious

Most likely rules it out. We don't have the cap to take him on without moving something in the process. Do you think Houston is going to want Joel Freeland and Meyers Leonard for Asik? Didn't think so.

It would be hard pressed unless we get cap space from another deal and we can still retain hickson.

I didn't think so I was just curious. I am quite happy with this move.

I think the next deal will be the offer for Iggy.

Why? That would be an anti-Neil Olshey type move.

He's a worse fit than Matthews, will likely cost twice as much, and will probably go the way of Gerald Wallace in one or two years when his athleticism starts declining. He wasn't even that good last year. Would be a terrible pick up.

We have mid mle "2.5 mil" and about 4 more mil

Nice. Most teams have the mle, so having around 4 in cap space will give us a little leverage on those who are worth more. I guess we could use it for a wing, but if we keep Wes then I really think he will get the majority of the back up SF minutes. (Claver will get some too depending on the match up)

Between CJ, Crabbe, Barton and Dame , our back up SG depth is fine. All we need is a quality back up PG. (OK we could use a better center, but you know what I mean)

Olshey gave Jordan 12 mil per in Los Angeles.

Maybe one of these days Olshey will acquire a center than can rebound

Meh move

Because he was a high upside guy that might live up to the contract. Iggy would never live up to that contract at his age.

Iggy has been consistent so far. There are players like Garnett, Allen or pierce that are still high performers at mid 30's.

I would have to think the Nuggs won't be contenders with or without Iggy. Seems like they'd want to go young, also seems like they need more shooters.

Wes + a 2nd rounder or something seems like it'd be decent value. I wonder if we/they(S&T) could give him like a 11.5/10.5/9.5/8.5 type of a deal? I don't feel like a contract like that would really weight us down all that much when it comes time to re-sign our guys like Batum, Lillard and (god-willing) Aldridge.

If possible; that's be great actually. And ironically the 4 mil + Matthews 8 mil fits that perfectly.

Last year, he played the worst he's played since his second season. Barely better than Matthews. He's already starting to decline ala Gerald Wallace. Whoever pays Iggy is going to have an albatross of a contract in a few years.

That Watson a team stacked with talent. Also, he was used as a b-Roy type creator. And his numbers and batum are almost Identical. Odd...

I don't think any doors are closed. There is a lot of flexibility still to what the Blazers could do. Just depends on what we want to give up. I don't really want to give up any decent assets at this point. If Aldridge is going to be moved though, anything is possible.

$14 million dollars for a 15.5 PER player about to turn 30. Just think about that for a second.

No Iggy. That's just not where this team is going.

Taking a pay cut to be on a better situation will help out the decision. Let's say he gets 11 mil per... That isn't bad
