^^^^^like your reference to Wally Pipp.
For those who are young (at heart), Lou Gehrig took over for 17 yrs.
as Yankee 1B after Wally Pipp got injured.
Does history repeat itself?

A on your history cage. Ha ha ha.

...no reason to believe at this point that DiDi won't be ready opening day.

Doo Doo Seems like he is always getting hurt. Maybe he is made of glass.

...McKinney, Bird, and Torres still hot.

Like all three, but only Bird will be on the parent team for now. Anticipating call ups during the campaign.
These players will not disappoint when they arrive.

...I dunno, 155 and 153 games played for the Yanx in 2015-16.

...the good news concerning the injury is that according to the doctor his arm strength is still "very good" which would indicate that it's nothing serious and no concern about the rotator cuff.

...yeah, I think we've all pretty much voiced a wish that Cashman would find a way to jettison some of the prima donnas and let the youngsters play.

...get on the phone, Cashman...make it happen.

...unconfirmed report; DiDi will start the season on the DL.

The way yanks rehab their injuries I expect him back by the all star break

^^^^^yep. 6 to 10 weeks.

...^^^ CL, I'm still trying to wrap my head around Cashman's insistence that Gleyber Torres will unequivocally start the season in A-Ball... I mean what possible harm could it do to allow Torres to get 8-10 games of MLB experience under his belt before DiDi returns, and then perhaps, if he struggles, send him down to the minors?...sorry, I just don't understand his thinking.
...and if he does OK, well, leave him on the big league roster and let him get some experience and advice from the vets while he's on the bench and experiment with him in late game situations to play SS, 2B, and 3B and see how it goes.
