The latest potential swaps heard around the league had the Nets discussing a deal that would've sent Vince Carter and Marcus Williams to the Clippers for Corey Maggette and Shaun Livingston. That deal was nixed by the Clippers, who don't want to deal Livingston, but the Nets seem more focused than ever on trying to move Carter.

The problem is, they want equal value in return, and equal value is hard to get for a player who can opt out of his contract after the season. Nets president Rod Thorn reportedly has offered Carter to Memphis for Pau Gasol, to Seattle for Ray Allen and to Utah for Andrei Kirilenko.

The Nets went 5-1 in the immediate aftermath of Kidd's divorce filing Jan. 9, then lost three straight games by one point entering last night's 112-102 win over Denver - in which Carter had 40 points.</div>

Hmmm..Well I doubt they'll get equal value for him. I wish Miami would try and do something to get him. I'd give up Wright, Posey, Picks, and maybe even Kapono for him.

Why the hell would we make that deal?

If we do trade VC thats gonna leave a big hole at two guard and we also better get a skilled big man. I also wouldn't like to see Williams go, hes got a lot of talent.
