After last nights game it's clear to me at best this team wins 35. That would be generous I don't even see our first win till at least two weeks into season. I'm thinking trade Aldridge bring back some talent and get a top 5 pick hopefully we improve fairly quick like the suns have.

Also Lopez isn't a starting caliber center in this league. That's what oshley settled for? That's like being promised a home cooked meal and getting Taco Bell.
 
If the Blazers pick is out of the lottery (or maybe it was 13 or later) the Bob(soon to be Hornets)cats get it.
 
That's great news. If and when he gets traded we look like a bottom five team. No worse then 8.

The many posters who can read SO much into one game... The first game... have a real grasp the team's situation and their overall future. Thanks for the input and all the great threads you start.

I guess I better go to my anger management meeting now before I beat up a sixth grader today.
 
It's one thing if that was a good team but it was a suns team missing a starter. That's really really bad considering the suns are supposed to be the worst team in west. A team who is decent wins that game easily. All I'm saying here is simply I love that suns team and what they are doing. We have one good young player in lillard (even though his defense regressed) and nothing else. So maybe get a young player in for LA like they did for Bledsoe. Although dragic looked like Nash and could be better then lillard but I digress. So trade la and get some young talent. Then have a top 5 pick in a great draft and we are on to something!

And I don't know anyone named rudy. Are u suggesting to bring back Rudy Fernandez? I don't think he likes nba.

The Suns were 5-2 in the pre-season. Just sayin'.
 
Only if we don't tank correctly. If we tank and get anything worse than the 12th pick, CHA gets our pick.

But I'm wondering: if you think the team legitimately sucks, they can't really "tank", aside from a lopsided trade or not playing LMA with "tendonitis" or something, amirite?
 
Well I think they will back into maybe 35 wins if they are extremely lucky but realistically this team will be in bottom part of lotto around 5-9 I think once la is moved

The good thing is, iirc, there are still decent prospects in the 5-9 range.
 
Mags u have admitted to being a blazers homer which is fine but this team in reality is atrocious and that's the nice way to say it. This season is a loss already. Trying to figure out what we should do for future now. Get on aboard bucko!!! It's a great draft coming up be excited for top 5 pick maybe !!!

Might be a little early to already saying the season is a loss. It's been 1 game.

Yes because one game will determine the entire season. Tell that to Miami fans after they lost to Philly.

The reality is this team went away from what made them successful during the pre-season. When we saw nothing of what happened during the pre-season, it was pretty obvious that the players and coach resorted to last year's style. When they regroup and play with the philosophy of this season, then we can talk.
 
The most shocking thing to happen in this forums history is RoyToy beating Mix... I mean Carlito to the "Blazers are the worst team ever" Thread after a loss to a team we shouldn't lose to.

Can someone please tell 82games.com they need to change their name to 1game.com. Evidently, the first game of the season is the ONLY game that matters. The other 81 games don't count.

yeah..its hard to argue with the lack of quality product fans received last night. We had two players that looked like they belonged in the NBA. Our O was harassed by their so so D to the point of being ineffective, and Our D was non existent. Wake me up when this nightmare is over. This past decade of wait till next year has taken its toll of me.

Relax brother, we got this… This won't be a "wait until next year" team. Our team was taken completely out of what made them successful. They are a big team and didn't play big like they did in the past. I see us turning around. I saved a seat on the bandwagon for you when you come back around.

Hahahaha, Mags, I love you and your never ending enthusiasm. Yeah..save me a seat for when this franchise turns around. In the mean time I can no longer stomach 82 grueling games viewed while bludgeoning my self with the false hopes of a one and done season. If I take the remaining 81 games times three hours wasted, add the 18 pack of coors light and what ever food I desire..well I could use the resources to paint the inside of the house or build a bike..
