I attended Lakeridge and used to go to a number of their football games - even after attending there.

When I moved to Atlanta, I pretty much quit keeping up with the team. However, now that I'm back in the area, I've begun to follow them again - particularly because their former coach, Tom Smythe, is once again coaching the team.

Anyway, was curious as to if any of you keep up with your respective teams...or even attend any of their games?

PS: I am strongly considering attending the Lakeridge vs. Lake Oswego game. It's suppose to be a huge game for both teams. While Lake Oswege is a perennial powerhouse, Smythe has Lakeridge back on the proverbial map.

Since I'm not allowed within 500 feet of my old high school, I'm court mandated to say no.

That's when those high-powered scopes come in handy.

(I feel creepy even joking about that)

GHS 'til I die!!!!!!!

Oh, you only need a few more credits to graduate. Keep taking the classes, you are bound to pass some sooner or later.

No, my high school closed down. Before the school closed I would occasionally check their box scores.
I do follow a high school team in Cleveland Ohio, because my friend is the defensive coordinator there. They've given up 11 points in the last three games!

Helps explain why I'm not a nerd.

Did you and HCP drop out because you got each other pregnant?

I didn't enjoy watching high school football when I was IN high school, so I have no interest in going back now. Wilson was terrible when I was there and they've been pretty always been terrible.

you're saying that your HS has sucked since before you got there and ever since?

jeesh...they've sucked since at least what, 98?

Try '88 FAMS!

HCP going OLD school with the state championship diss!

(I had to look that up to see what the fuck you were talking about.

Interesting, the state title seemed to be dominated by Wilson and Grant for about 6 years.

Wilson: 85, 89 and 91
Grant: 86 and 88.

I guess Nate could say 3 is bigger than two (in this regard) but Grant has one from the 60's and one from 2008.

Good lord this strike needs to end soon.

I was there from 96-2000.... we had a good baseball team and a good soccer team. That was about it.

I was at Grant from 86-90! Killed in Basketball, Track, Soccer........ Man we sucked at football! I think I am officially "Old School" now huh?

When I was at Jesuit, they won the soccer championship 4 years in a row. Football was pretty dope too. Diallo Lewis to Woody Green!

I remember our senior year, we went out and played the University of Jesuit and beat them in soccer. Ended like some 4 year winning streak they had! What a blast that was..... sending all the rich crackers home with tears in their eyes. Also, Spolstra used to open the gym up out there in the summer and we used to get some good runs in!

"That's all right, that's ok...you will work for us someday!"

"Our big black cheerleaders can beat up your big white football players!"

I remember a cheer once, that somehow incorporated a derisive comment about mom and dad buying them their car and something something. You had to be there to get it.

I guess I really can't say that you had to be there, since I was there and I barely remember it.

I follow my high school and the high school that my kids will go to (attend a few games a year). I check the scores on Friday night/Saturday morning... or watch the highlights on KGW on Friday night.

I went to Sunset High School and I still follow them. We were down for a few years, but it looks like we got our mojo back!

I like to keep track of how the old school is doing, but the coverage in the Olympian sucks. We get maybe 2 or 3 game writeups a year, but at least with MaxHSSports.com (or whatever it is) I can see their "national ranking" (LOL) and scores and stats.

Team was good before I was there, stunk the four years I played (CB as a skinny 14- & 15-year old, OE & DE as a junior & senior), and was good after I left. I seem to have that effect on everything. Canadian HS games aren't really a big deal though, certainly not on the same level as even upstate New York (20mins away).
