Does anybody like either of these trades?

I have not the least bit of liking for either.

Gramps...

The first one is meh... I'm not really sold on Aaron Brooks honestly.

The second one is definitely a no go. Giving up Matthews, Rudy, and Miller for Chauncey Billups and Aaron Afflalo? Yikes.

That's how I see them as well.

Don't like number 1 or 2 at all. I'd do number 3 to get a young PG, but it seems like the Bobcats would get better offers.

Go Blazers

There aren't many options for trades...I was trying to find reasonable ones...I realize Brooks is having a tough year. He needs a change of scenery, he's obviously frustrated and off his game. The second trade I did with Denver would give us another a leader and 3 pt shooter for when Roy comes back to play off of him plus Afflalo who's similar to Matthews but way cheaper. Lastly, this trade would definitely make us better but highly unlikely!

The problem to me, with Brooks, is that last year was his only good one. At this point, I'd be much more concerned that last year was the fluke, rather than this one. I'm not at all convinced that he's a good starter in terms of talent. So far, he profiles more as a good reserve.

I almost threw up from shitting myself, those are terrible.

Sug,
If you've got something better, let's hear it! At this point there only a few names out there worth going after...Harris, Ellis, Wallace, and Iguodala. Unfortunately, at this point everyone is waiting for Melo's situation to be resolved...kinda a boring trade deadline right now.

I am a huge believer in this team needing to move forward with a trade, but both of those trades are pretty bad for Portland. I think if ou threw a first at the Bobs and replace Cunningham with Rudy, they would think about it.

A trade I'd look at is JPEC for Biedrins. It'll save GS close to $30m and provide LaMarcus with a rebounder/defender next to him, who's still only 24 btw.

I think that for better or for worse, this franchise is still banking on the Oden wagon. I don't know if they are willing to commit $10 Million a year to another center.

I wish we would have went after Gortat though. He's looking mighty good in extended minutes and he's cheaper than Biedrins.

I'd do the JPEC/Biedrins swap. Oden or no Oden, I'd take a flier on a 24 year old big man who's had very good seasons in the past. If Biedrins regains his previous form AND Oden returns from injury to become a consistent on-court presence, having three high-level big men is a good problem to have. Biedrins would make a good trade chip to get, say, a point guard.

The chances of both happening are low, though, so I'd like the team to take as many cheap (talent-wise) fliers as possible. And Biedrins would solidify the team a bit in the present. Even at his current level, he'd make a nice reserve.

I love Biedrins game. I think he just needs a change of scenery and a free throw coach. Could you imagine him off the bench? That's where we're getting killed--2nd unit rebounding. Every second unit needs an energy guy, and he'd be a great one.
