Does Anyone Feel the Same?

The conclusion of many--Blazer fans, NBA fans and NBA analysts--is that this team is only going to go as far as GO takes us. It's sad to see his development get put off one more year. This year has also shown that LMA and Roy need to adjust to GO as much as he needs to adjust to playing in the NBA. That development is also going to be delayed.

We forced open our window sooner than almost anyone believed we could. All this injury means is that our window goes back to the timeline most "experts" predicted. It's my hope GO recovers fully and works with Roy and LMA this offseason to mesh their talents.

Wow, are you serious? What if we won the championship? Would that merely be not as exciting because Greg didn't play? Greg hasn't proven ANYTHING in this league. He's not this known quantity that we can't win without. He's a very young player who wasn't even averaging a double double. Joel can rebound and play defense and Roy will play better without Oden, sad but true. We absolutely have enough talent to grab the 4th seed again and this time, we'll have the experience to win a round at the very least.

I have a feeling you are the only one who doesn't feel bad about the Greg injury. Frankly, you're pathetic.

I hope the team can play well without Oden but historically it doesn't look very promising.

This current Blazer team without Oden is much like the 2007 team.

That team only won 41 games even though B-Roy had a remarkable season.

And that team didn't have many other injuries to contend with.

This team does.

I will still attend games and root for them like I have for the last 32 years.

But it is going to take a magical season for this team to even make the playoffs without Oden much less make noise once they get there.

I don't think it'll take a magical season to make the playoffs, assuming Rudy is not out for the season. While this team is similar to the 2007 team that went 41-41, Roy and Aldridge (our 2 major players) have had 2 more years of experience. Rudy is like James Jones, but a better all-around talent. Blake and Przybilla are still here. And we still have a decent bench with Bayless getting better, Andre Miller, and Cunningham. I think this team still has the talent to make the playoffs as a very low seed. Beyond that, I don't think we can get out of the 1st round this year.
