I was wondering what everyones belief was on if Portland gets agressive immeadiately and contacts a free agent the 1st minute they can tonight and if so who do you think it will be? The obvious answer would be Hedo since everyone links him to us and its seems as if other teams have cooled on him. We might be able to get him cheaper then the contract that he is looking for since he doesnt have nearly as many options (Sac is out of the running).

KP will be even faster.

9:00:01 PM. Phone call goes out to the first guy on his list.

I think we can contact free agents at 901pm (pacific time), and I fucking hope so.

You know I thought it was 9 pacific time as well since it was based off the east coast time but I just read an article that said free agents couldn;t be contacted till 10 pacific time. I guess I should of known better then to trust shotty info.

It's 9 pacific time.

Don't want Ron Artest. He's more of an offensive killer than McMillan's offense. McMillan's Offense + Ron Artest = Oh boy......just kill me now.

I don't agree. The only reason Ron was forcing it in the playoffs is because all their other options were gone. Everybody was forced to take on roles they were not used to playing.

I wonder if it's a Jerry Maguire/Bob Sugar situation...

KP: "Hey Jason! It's great to talk to you about how great you'd fit as our PG. I'm gonna let you talk contract numbers with my money man, Tom Penn--Hey David Lee! We know you're unappreciated in NY and everyone keeps talking about LBJ. We want you in our camp...you want to talk to the owner? Here you go--Hey Ramon! You've been on my mind since 2007, baby. What's it going to take for MIL not to match? We'll build you in as one of our Big 4...here's our ad department right now with some ideas they've lined up for you.

Every other GM: "I keep getting busy signals. Is this the right number?"

It wasn't just the playoffs. Houston fans have been complaining about his offense all season.

Hmmm. And who has been out all season...Tracy McGrady. You can keep splitting hairs if you want to, but Ron has shown he can be a team guy in the past. As soon as Tmac was gone, he had to shoulder part of the load. As soon as Yao was gone, he had to try and shoulder more.

I believe if he was here he would recognize Brandon Roy as team leader and follow suit. He has spoken with a great deal of respect for Roy. He would know his place. Behind Roy, behind Aldridge in the scoring column. Probably behind Greg soon if he ends up making some noise.

I could see him happy to just be a "Crazy Pills" on defense and becoming Rodman like with a little O.

Wheels said on 95.5 that KP has told insiders that he plans on offering a contract to a FA tonight at 12:01.

And at 12:10 he will issue a press release - "We explored numerous options, but none of them made sense for us. We really like our roster and want to keep it together and see what it can do. We really like our culture. We really like Blake as our PG. We really like rainbows and unicorns and turtles...and pudding!"

Roy makes no sense because, while we can offer him a contract then, he is not a FA of any kind.

So if Wheels said we would offer a FA a contract then, it can't be Roy
