It's fair to judge this Imam for his words and actions, fine. But it isn't at all representative of 1.2B other Muslims.

As long as they stay silent, one has to assume they agree with these sentiments.

Islam has a problem within its own religion. It needs to clean up its own mess or it has no basis to complain when we do it for them. As has been said before, all it takes for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing. It's time for the assumed peaceful majority of Muslims to take back their religion. If not, we have to assume they share the ends of the most vitriolic members of their religion.

Collect all the data you can on a problem without bias toward a conclusion. Once those data have been gathered and organized, however, a conclusion must be drawn. It means discerning the truth from the noise, which is the really hard part. Problems are rarely clean, but the solutions are there if you have the discipline to make hard decisions.

I appreciate the advice. I guess my goal is to actually collect data, as opposed to relying on second hand studies in order to inform my opinions. To me, your conclusions seem rushed.
