The Bakersfield Jam (20-24) powered a fourth-quarter rally to defeat the Los Angeles D-Fenders (27-17) on the road Monday night by a final score of 124-111. Jerel McNeal led the Jam with 23 points, eight assists and four steals.
Bakersfield and Los Angeles started the gamegoing back and forth until the D-Fenders opened up a seven-point lead at the 5:38 mark (20-13) of the first period. With a 38-35 lead entering the second quarter, the D-Fenders increased their lead to nine points and went into the half holding a seven-point lead (70-63). In total, Bakersfield shot 49 percent from the field in the first half while Los Angeles shot 63 percent.

The second half belonged to the Jam, in particular the fourth quarter as they dominated the final 12 minutes from start to finish. In that final frame, Bakersfield faced a seven-point deficit but turned it around quickly as they ended up outscoring the D-Fenders 30-13 in the quarter, while holding them to just 16 percent from the floor (4/16 FG's). In total, Bakersfield outscored Los Angeles 61-41 in the second half.

Overall, the Jam shot better from the field (44.9%-43.0%), dominated points in the paint (72-38) and second chance points (27-6), and had more rebounds (53-45). In addition, Bakersfield committed fewer turnovers than the D-Fenders (23-17).

Dennis Horner (22 points, 10 rebounds) and Ike Diogu (17 points, 12 rebounds) each recorded a double-double. Diogu has now posted a double-double in 12 consecutive games, totaling to 19 for the season. Derrick Byars had 20 points and six rebounds and Terrel Harris contributed 11 points and five rebounds.

Los Angeles was led by Shawne Williams who posted a game-high 32 points to go along with nine rebounds and six assists. Brandon Costner had 19 points and six reboudns while C.J. Williams tallied 18 points and six rebounds.

Bakersfield will next visit the Idaho Stampede on Wednesday, March 26 at 6:00 p.m. PDT.
