<{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Politics is so stupid. If this election proved anything, 2 party system does not work. There's only 2 legit choices so if one party fucks up the other takes over. Is it even about values anymore or simply who can screw up the least? It happened with Clinton, it's happening again with Bush. It'll happen in 08 and in either 2012 or 2016, it'll flip back over. No country is ever in love with their president, they're dissatisfied some way or the other.Obviously,
the Republicans failed miserably with Iraq and Mark Foley. Now let's see how the Democrats do in delivering their word. Higher taxes... anyone?</div>I actually believe that what turned the tide was the total lack of compassion or action during Katrina. The republican government was exposed for what it was to the American people. I love how I am seeing all these republicans back pedaling for their political careers and declaring how they are now all of a sudden willing to work with the democrats. I hope the democrats impeach Bush for lying to the country about Iraq. An important reason to impeach a president rather than whether they got a little sex on the side.</div>1st: Clinton got impeached for perjury after he lied about having sex. Not for having an affair.2nd: While the true reason we invaded Iraq will never be known for certain, a recently declassified War Games prediction from the Clinton administration shows that Bush was right on us not needing more troops. The prediction was that it didn't matter if we had 60,000 or 900,000 troops, the result would be the same. The problem is that the same report said that it would be impossible to establish a self-sustaining government in under a decade.3rd: While Republicans are the problem, Democrats aren't the solution.</div>1 - I know that but was it really something important that was worth doing or simply the republican party acting on something in a childish manner and making a mountain out of a molehill? Sure, he commited purgery, but did thousands of people die from it? I mean, come on.2 - I really don't care about some declassified reports about war games and such, the point is that the gulf war was started for reasons that were only about profit and had nothing to do with anyone elses best interests, WOMD, or whatever else they claimed. Not 1 single troop should have been ever there. 3 - I agree and disagree to a certain extent. I do believe that the democratic party being involved more will help this country to a certain degree. Hopefully, they will pull our troops out of Iraq and change some of the idiotic things Bush did while in office such as the patriot act, phone tapping, etc. Of course, any party that is in power too long will become corrupt, more so than they are normally anyways, and when that happens, a change is a good thing. If I had my way though, there would be no parties but rather statesmen that represent the people of their state exclusively.
