Donald Trump: I've got my birth certificate, where President Barack Obama's?

Trump is 2nd in the latest new Hampshire polls, just a few points
Behind Romney.

Amazing.

I hope Trump and Palin do really well in the Republican polls and primaries.

Before Trump became a Republican candidate...

"Bush worst president in history" ... "Iraq has become a total catastrophe"...

I really respected him before he took up his republican talking points...

Another video... Trump on Fox... it is simply amazing how their tune has changed with a democrat in office.

Again, Trump was spot on with this one. I want THAT Trump back. The current one is doing the same old Republican BS to try and get elected. He sounds like an asshat.

Last time Nancy Pelosi signed off on then-Senator Obama's eligibility to run for office. I wonder if the House Republicans get pressured into demanding his long-form birth certificate before they certify his as eligable to run for re-election?

Trump/Palin would be a great ticket for 2012. Or Palin/Trump. Make it so, Republican friends!

Boehner would probably start crying, and saying it wasn't fair to make him do it.

Pelosi is more of a man than Boehner. The Republicans need their own version of her, instead of the milquetoast mess Boehner, who is the ultimate Girly Man with a Tan.

By 2012, the country is going to be so sick of Obama that a Trump/Palin ticket might look pretty good.

You are absolutely right. I encourage you to get the vote out for them.

Trump was on MSNBC this morning doing the birther thing still.

He's had people in Hawaii digging up stuff since the beginning of the year. He's not a stupid man. Seems plausible to me his investigators have unconvered some information that he feels will damage Obomba's credibility, and is going to slowly release information to build his narrative.

Don't need to. The Republican ticket, whatever it is, will look much more attractive to America than our former community organizer from Chicago.

Trump sends investigators to Hawaii to look into Obama

Washington (CNN) – Self-proclaimed birther Donald Trump is now so doubtful of President Obama's birthplace that he's sent a team of his own investigators to Hawaii in hopes of getting to the bottom of the issue.

That's according to Trump himself, who, in an interview with NBC, warned his investigators just might uncover "one of the greatest cons in the history of politics and beyond."

"I have people that have been studying it and they cannot believe what they're finding," Trump said an interview that aired Thursday Morning.

Asked if he has assigned people specifically to search in Hawaii, Trump said, "Absolutely."

The business mogul, who in a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll is tied for second place among potential presidential candidates, also suggested the president is involved in an ongoing cover-up over the matter.

"He spent $2 million in legal fees trying on to get away from this issue, and if it weren't an issue, why wouldn't he just solve it?" he said. "I wish he would because if he doesn't, it's one of the greatest scams in the history of politics and in the history, period. You are not allowed to be a president if you're not born in this country. Right now, I have real doubts."

This is what primary challengers do. Each one will pick an issue or a set of issues and hammer the current administration over it. They may not win, but their value is in bringing up the issue.

It's potentially about much more than that. If we find out that Obama has been engaged in a cover-up regarding his Constitutional ability to serve, he's headed for impeachment.

I was making a more general point, but I agree.

Here's a question for people who know the Constitution better than I. I had assumed that if it were found that he were ineligible to hold office, that Joe Biden would simply serve the rest of his term. Upon further reflection, however, wouldn't all the votes for him in 2008 be invalidated and John McCain be declared the winner? At that point, wouldn't he and Gov. Palin then complete the term? Or would it be that the votes would be transferred to Biden and he would be declared the winner and complete the term?

No, he's not stupid. He's pretty good at self-promotion and getting attention. Saying "...and they can't believe what they're finding" is pretty equivalent to a carnival barker pulling in the rubes. :)

My own personal belief is that he was born in Hawaii, but there's something else he doesn't want released on his birth certificate. Either Barack Obama, Sr. isn't his father or he's uncomfortable with the religion listed on the form. I don't know. I just know that he's protesting too much for it to be nothing.

I don't think he's protesting at all. I think he's keeping it under wraps and ignoring the birthers as a cynical ploy to let Republicans waste time on an issue most Americans don't care about and really never did. Honestly, the more time Republicans spend on Obama being a secret Kenyan is less time spent on decrying the economy, which works to Obama's benefit.

I've considered that theory, but the numbers don't support it. Enough people have questions about it (check the polling) that it's become politically advantageous to release it and to end the issue. As much as people would like to equate "Birther" with "Truther", that strategy hasn't worked. The people asking this simple and reasonable question aren't like the nutjobs like Yega1979 who thinks the US brought down the World Trade Center.

I haven't seen any polls that suggest the Republicans are making any headway on the issue. It didn't make an impact at the time, in 2008, and polls I've seen since (which are few and far between because even pollsters don't see it as very worth polling for anymore) have shown decreasing interest over time.

If you have links to some credible polls (like AP, Gallup, etc...not WND) that show otherwise, I'd be interested to look at them.

Donald Trump's polling numbers are asking that question via proxy, and they've been shockingly high.

Remember, the issue is whether or not President Obama should produce his original, official long form birth certificate, not whether or not he was born in the United States. Those are two different questions that produce different results.

I think Democrats are putting on a good face about all this, but are actually frightened to death by what it may do to Obama's presidency.

Nothing escapes you. :sigh:

I'm sure they'll come to Hawai'i with a complete air of objectivity and willingness to select the outcome that they don't favor if they find evidence to the contrary.

Nah. Obama's just messin' with us! He's having a big laugh over this whole "non-issue." He's got that birth certificate and he's going to spring it right before the election . . . It's all just a great opportunity to make Republicans look silly.

Who cares? If there's no evidence, they won't find any. If there's evidence, then they'll present it. If Obama is actually a natural-born citizen, he's got nothing to worry about.

This is what I think too. Or he's listed as white for race.
