We are all just talking about what happened to DT jr. Not sure where your diatribe of persecution is coming from. Seems like it has nothing to do with anything happening in this thread.

I wouldn't be so sure. There have been times deficient characters have been elected to high offices. See: the current President of the United States of America.

If I had somewhere over 1500 posts but less than 2000, would you criticize me for having <2000? Post counting is stupid. And I'm not upset about people not conversing with ME, but the fact that those of you who are far left don't seem to have any interest in conversing with others who you know disagree politically/socially in the main section because you're afraid that agreeing or liking a post from them somehow jeopardizes your mindset and credibility as viewed by others who you typically agree with.

I didn't word it elegantly, but I wasn't talking about you per se. I've just noticed that many of those who agree on a particular sociopolitical spectrum here make a point not to talk much with others who they know have a different mindset, even in the main section. Sly you do seem to be an exception, but you are also the commish so I think you feel like you have to do so just for optics.

Maybe some people avoid talking to others in the main forum, but I don't see it personally. Shit, I just met up with @ABM and his wife and ate food and watched a Blazers game. I've hung out with everyone from @Chris Craig to @MARIS61 in real life. I'm not seeing it.

I'm not sure what you would like to converse about? Is this place at times an echo chamber? for sure.
On the flip side of that, the "conservatives" on this site don't do a great job of holding themselves accountable for a.) making good arguments, b) not attacking posters, c) looking like they want to be in a conversation and d) lashing out at people who disagree with them. Unfortunately, I think there are actually some very intelligent people here who are republicans that just lack tact. I'd say there are those on both sides TBH, but the fact is Portland leans left, and as most of us are from around the Portland area it would seem pretty logical that most of us lean that direction as well.

What do you want to talk about? Trump? I don't "hate" him like many here do, but I certainly don't think he's a good president or leader and I'd be glad to go over the reasons why I think that.

You also called me out in your original post, yet obviously you aren't talking about me either, since I rarely talk to anyone on the main board, no matter what their politics.

And here in OT I talk almost exclusively to (or at, if you prefer) those I disagree with. Sometimes to the point where they beg me to leave them alone.

If you truly feel there's not enough "diversity of thinking" here, well, maybe you should post your opinion/s more often. And believe it or not, this "O/T" forum is far from one sided where Trump is concerned.

I've said many times before, this place would be boring as hell if we all agreed on everything. I'll talk to people even when I don't agree with them. I kinda think that's what forums are for.
