Cleveland gets #1 and #4, conveniently, after losing LeBron James.![]()
Minnesota has to make a damn trade. Between Rubio and Flynn, and all the other pieces on their roster like Wesley Johnson, Webster, Ridnour, Beasley, Anthony Randolph,
Jesus..... Team needs some direction.
Derk Williams could fall to the Cavs at 4
Minny has Love/Beasley/Randolph/Webster
Utah has Millsap/Favors/Hayword/Jefferson
Or those players could be traded and they pick Williams. I think you get more trading a proven player than potential? Who knows.
PG: Irving:
SG:
SF:
PF: Hickson
C: Valanciunas
Not a bad core. They are starting from scratch and they have some assets (Varejao, Sessions, Jamison exp.) to land them a few nice wings.
Minnesota might have to take Williams, a classic 3/4 tweener in the mold of Michael Beasley. Losing out on Irving I think Minny could package this pick.
Utah, OTOH, could end up with the best big in this draft: Enes Kanter.
Hmm, might be interesting, wonder if there's anything in the draft that Cho likes? Not sure what Oden's value is or anything, but maybe we pursue something with Cleveland.
Oden (re-signed at 9 mill three years) for Jamison/4
Oden would like being close to home, Cleveland would take a gamble but it could pay off bigtime, would be exciting for the fans. Jamison could stretch the floor for the blazers, be alright for a year behind Aldridge.
Then package 4/Rudy?/later pick to Minnesota for 2/Webster/?
Grab Williams and waive Roy? Trade the #2 for a big man if Memphis has trouble re-signing Gasol? Etc? Do you think Cho's going to want to gut the team, improve on it?
Miller/? - go after brooks/Johnson
Matthews/Webster/Williams
Wallace/Batum
Aldridge/Jamison
Camby/Aldridge/? (#2 or 4?, project, trade)
-Chad Ford TwitterI think there's zero suspense at the top. I'm told Cavs love Irving. Suspense begins at 2: Williams, Kanter, Biyombo, trade all possible
2. Minnesota Timberwolves--- Doesn't need a PG
3. Utah Jazz--- Doesn't need a PG
4. Cleveland Cavaliers--- Doesn't need a PG (after drafting Irving)
5. Toronto Raptors--- Doesn't need a PG (but they could still go after one)
6. Washington Wizards--- Doesn't need a PG
7. Sacramento Kings--- Needs a PG
8. Detroit Pistons--- Doesn't need a PG (but, I've read about them not being thrilled with Stuckey)
9. Charlotte Bobcats--- Doesn't need a PG
10. MIlwaukee Bucks--- Doesn't need a PG
11. Golden State Warriors--- Doesn't need a PG
12. Utah Jazz--- Doesn't need a PG
13. Phoenix Suns--- Doesn't need a PG (unless they give up Brooks as Nash's heir apparent)
14. Houston Rockets--- Doesn't need a PG
Already hearing from sources that Minnesota has told people they're very open to moving No. 2 pick. Kahn wants veteran help
Just looking down the teams in the lottery:
Brandon Knight, Jimmer, and/or Kemba could all be had I think from any of these teams.
Evans is a SG.I'm not sure that the Kings need a PG, isn't Evans a PG?
Also, I'm not sure the Suns consider Brooks the heir apparent.
