Yeah...

Drummond at #6 would be worth it just to hear Mike Rice go into a tirade on air.

Good morn. I feel alot better than okc right now. Have to get going to see blazer big lottery work out this morn. Draft getting closer

Kansas forward Thomas Robinson is expected to go second overall to the Bobcats, and while it’s difficult to decipher smokescreens from truth this time of year, the Wizards have made it clear they won’t let Michael Kidd-Gilchrist fall beyond them at No. 3.

Shrewd move by Les Boulez. MKG isn't the greatest fit for them, but they know he has value to someone. BUT, it makes it easier to trade with CHA now.

How does knowing they'll take MKG make a trade with Charlotte easier?

Just off the top of my head...First, you don't have to play the posturing game. Olshey can go to PA (if MKG is our guy) and say "he won't be there at 6, and also not at 4. So it doesn't matter if we get a late first back from CLE, we still probably won't get our guy."

Second, CHA probably has a few guys they're looking at, and MKG's not at the top of that list. They'd be happy to take two players who are better fits. If you can tell them they'd get, say, Drummond and Waiters, they'd probably drop back to 6/11. If they know that CLE wants to trade up for, say, Robinson...they now know that WAS is probably going to take MKG either for themselves or someone else and if Beal or Drummond or Barnes was their REAL choice they get more assets while dropping back safely (think of LMA and Tyrus Thomas in 2006).

It also sets a value for the #4, 5 and 6 picks (7 if you think Lillard is a Tier Two guy). If you know that MKG isn't getting past WAS, then the 4, 5 and 6 picks are a little easier to prognosticate.

Gotcha, thanks. Had been thinking of it differently in regards to trades, so was unsure what you meant by easier to trade. Makes sense.

Will be best work out yet. Best guards in draft here today.

Maybe Rice isn't as high on Lilalrd as we thought?

Any word on who is working out tomorrow? I heard on The Fan that the Trail Blazers are having a "secret" workout tomorrow with one of the projected top picks.

Robinson would be my guess? After that I would guess MKG since we haven't seen them yet

Didn't MKG say he wasn't going to work out for us and was only working out in the top 4.

I think I would pee my pants if Trob came and worked out, those implications would be massive.

Yes, but since it is secret, maybe it's MKG? That was my thinking when I mentioned him anyway

can you keep a secret? (whisper) Davis (/whisper) :MARIS61:

Today is:
St. John's guard Moe Harkless | DraftExpress Profile | No. 18 in DX Top 100
UNC guard Kendall Marshall | DraftExpress Profile | No. 14 in DX Top 100
Duke guard Austin Rivers | DraftExpress Profile | No. 15 in DX Top 100
Washington forward Terrence Ross | DraftExpress Profile | No. 16 in DX Top 100
Virginia forward Mike Scott | DraftExpress Profile | No. 56 in DX Top 100
Washington guard Tony Wroten | DraftExpress Profile | No. 25 in DX Top 100
Won't it be interesting to see Marshall go up against Rivers or Wroten. I assume this means some 3 on 3, which will tell a lot about Marshall's ability. It would also be interesting to see if Rivers can show some PG skills.

I believe so? Maybe it is a second workout? Olshey mentioned that he might bring some players back for a second workout

If it's Drummond or Barnes, I would expect Portland is expecting one or both to be available at #6, and they want some clarity.

If it's MKG or T-Rob, the team may have something in the works (i.e. moving up) that agents deem as having a decent chance of happening. There'd be no other reason to have these guys work out for Portland. Even if the agents thought these two guys could slide and be available to Portland at #6, you'd have to believe that their agents would assume Portland would draft them if they were there at #6, and thus, there'd be no reason for them to workout in Portland.
