Funny you do this in the forum. While using conjecture and making shit up as you go along because you hate Olshey.

hE MuST rEAllY LiKe cJ mOrE ThaN dAmE...

Fucking. Conjecture. Completely invented narrative... The bottom line is ALL of us are speculating....

WTF are you talking about?

of course I speculate...just like you...just like everybody posting here. Sky is blue. That's S2 in a nutshell.

what I was specifically talking about, and what Blazerkor was specifically talking about was one particular bit of speculation by a Bay Area Sports guy....that being his conjecture that Simmons wouldn't want to play in Portland.

I know specifically what you're referring to when you say:

"another example of conjecture becoming accepted fact. Certainly, at least a couple of posters here are invested in believing it."

But you do the same shit when you say:

hE MuST rEAllY LiKe cJ mOrE ThaN dAmE...

You literally made that up off of reading too deeply into what, something you made up? If you do this, why call others out for it?
Pot meet Kettle? Like really. Your narratives are just as invented as anyone else.

and they all have the same source.
sure....it snowballs...just like every other rumor on the nba circuit but when someone says nothing has been said about a topic....in this case, I'll disagree...there are many articles about it...and sources...show me the Dame hates Neil source...show me the Jody wants to sell the team source...show me the Nurk isn't coming back source...it's offseason and we're talking trade targets....same thing happened years ago when Melo didn't want to come here..stories about his wife not wanting to move to Portland....I didn't want Melo then either...just like this offseason Nobody on S2 is qualified to prove or debunk the rumor....including me. It was a topic of controversy early in the offseason across the league...still is to some extent. My gut says I don't want the kid's baggage on our team...lot of that was fueled by his own conduct towards his own team...Ben Simmons can go public and debunk it himself. Dame did that in his rumor mill. Philly and his agent would put a gag on that story in a heartbeat since they want his value higher...that's what buries things players might say once they realize it costs them money.

I'm guessing you didn't hear what he said on his podcast?

It wasn't like some angry outburst about something he just realized. He simply agreed with Durant that it wasn't handled right. If that made him angry enough to want out, it would have happened in the past few years.

There are many reasons to believe they may want to move on from Green. Their interest in Ben Simmons probably being the main one.

Green looked their brass right in the eye and told them they "are gonna fuck this up" when it came to mending fences with Durant.
BOTH agreed management did fuck up. Meaning sans management, Durant maybe would've stayed.

Draymond also said he laughed in their faces when the suspended him for not apologizing on their terms. In an interview with Dame he said he often felt doubted by Kerr and that many times after hitting a 3 he would stare Kerr down for disbelieving in him. Green is 31 years old and not getting any younger. If Simmons can develop a decent 3 pointer, he could replace Green at PF.

I'm thinking being a new father has mellowed Draymond out a bit

I thought it was pretty disrespectful to his coach and his owner. Would you be happy to hear Dame talk like that?

I've been really warming up to the idea of trading for Draymond Green. Hear me out...

As a referee, his court demeanor really irritates me. I remember the time when he was so pissed he accidentally hit Ken Mauer and literally drew blood without penalty... His outbursts and constant conversations with the refs are one of the reasons why I would never go past the college level of refereeing. At least then in those moments you're usually dealing only with head coaches. I saw his argument with Durant and gave him a pass because The Snake... Is to me a different kind of asshole... He's a sneaky one and Draymond's "assholishness" (I know it's not a word) is on his sleeve. Shit, maybe I just misjudged his passion... I think our team is lacking that kind of passion. Which is why Dame's comment about some folks being ok with just making the playoffs really sticks out... There's been speculation that Dame is recruiting Draymond as they have become friends over time. A few times Green has expressed displeasure with GSW management... There have been rumors about Simmons and GSW. I know there are some in here who can't stand him and trust me, I was one of you. I feel differently now.

On paper, Draymond checks LOTS of boxes. He could be the biggest cog we need in our defense.

A lineup of Dame/Powell/Roco/Draymond/Nurkic would be so GREAT defensively!

I know one thing, I'd rather have him than Ben Simmons...

Ben Simmons actually could be part of this trade as a 3rd team but that's on Morey.

Edit: I also think we should trade Roco and DJJ's expiring deals and maybe a future 1st for Jerami Grant. Editing the OP to include those:

I could be excited with Draymond. But if we’re trading for Simmons and not getting Simmons, that’s a bad move on our part. Simmons has become criminally underrated because of one bad playoff series.

Really? I don't think it's disrespectful at all. It was blunt and truthful. And what does he need to kiss a fucking ring or something?
Don't tell me WTF I have to do when it comes to relations with other people because I got it. If they'd have stayed out of it, shit woulda been better.
I know that's hindsight talking but BOTH agreed management fucked up. And you know what? Draymond kept it 100% real with them.

How do you know dame doesn't? It wouldn't bother me one bit if Dame told Neil that about an argument he had with another player.

Remembering back to the late 80's, the Blazers had been built with Clyde, Terry, & Jerome. Then the trade for Duck. But they were still missing that one piece. That move was Buck Williams. turned a decent team into a contender overnight. I feel like acquiring a Draymond Green could be that same move. Just saying.

I don't think it's a big deal at all. They've been dealing with Dray for a long time now. The dude laughed in their faces. They know what they've got. They might be tired of dealing with it but I don't think this interview was a big deal at all. Just Dray being Dray and one of the reasons I don't really like the dude.

Really? Because the only way I see it happening is if we trade Dame to Philly. In which case why would we want to get older?
I've already said I'd trade Roco DJJ and a pick for him...not Dame to Philly ..we don't need Philly and part of it would be Draymond telling the Warriors he wants the trade...to Portland..the idea is to get better...no scenario trading Dame makes us better...fact is the Warriors are 190 million into luxury tax payments on top of payroll and they can't pay Simmons big contract

Grant alone is worse than RoCo.

What is the obsession with Jerami Grant on this board? Average player, overpaid.
He plays really good defense on the perimeter and in the post and he also scores well in both areas. A very skilled player and legit athlete. I don't know what you wouldn't like about him... are you actually Pop?

We're in total disagreement here. Jerami Grant is just coming into his prime and is averaging 22 PPG on an above average PER.

We're also in disagreement here. Simmons must be traded before camp. His value is only going to decrease over that time.
They're not keeping him and Morey ain't getting what he's asking for.

Fallacy.

Simmons has NEVER shot the ball his entire career because he's scared to. I'm tired of repeating that the man was seeing a psychologist for it...
In that particular series, he was was gameplanned for WELL. His shooting anxieties are well documented throughout his entire career...

This doesn't make much sense seeing as how if we did trade Dame (we're not) we would get Simmons, not Draymond.

Any team would have to use Ben Simmons like a Dennis Rodman...not looking to score much but defending like a mofo....problem is his price is one of a superstar who can shoot and close a game

I'm not saying it's impossible, I just was disagreeing with Nate that that podcast he did with Durant was essentially him writing his ticket out of town.

I think there's reason to believe Golden State would want Simmons as a Green replacement: he's much younger, he's longer and more athletic (and they've been outspoken about wanting more of both on their team), he gives them a potential bridge between their current aging core and their developing young one.

But there's also reason to believe Golden State wouldn't want to trade Green, even if they do want Simmons: they don't play the same role, even defensively. Simmons is a multi-positional stopper, like a bigger Kawhi Leonard. Green, while he's good at defending all the positions, isn't a stopper--he's a defensive quarterback, who's a genius at sniffing out what the opposition is doing and getting teammates in the right place and putting himself in the best place to disrupt it. Simmons would give Golden State a new weapon, but he wouldn't replace what Green gives them. There's also team chemistry--I think Curry is tight with Green and Green has been the emotional heart of that team through their championship years. It's damn hard to trade that player away, just from the political side of things.

If that trade were put in front of Golden State, I think they'd look hard at it, but I don't know if they'd accept it. I think it would be a tough call to accept it or to decline it.

I lost all respect for him after that bullshit.

People don't understand how he was being disrespectful.

If I went around publicly saying that I laughed in my bosses faces, it wouldn't go well for me.

You're right but I'm still saying that the Warriors know who they're dealing with and basketball is not a normal business. This wasn't something that has to mean anything... it could and maybe the Warriors will want to trade him now but after all of these years of the guy saying outlandish shit I very highly doubt this is the breaking point. They'll just chalk it up to Dray being Dray and if they weren't already trading him, they won't.

That's just another day for Draymond Green. The Warriors know him pretty well by now, they're not going to be in their feelings about that comment. If they were that intolerant of his personality, he'd have been out a long time ago. I live in the Bay Area and see/hear pretty much everything Green says publicly--no one familiar with the team batted an eye over that comment as it's pretty typical Dray. As long as Green plays hard and isn't disruptive to the team--and his teammates don't seem thrown by his antics--he's basically like Dennis Rodman on the Bulls: maybe he engenders exasperation at times, but they can work with him.

Draymond went nuts on KD, a guy the front office was afraid of losing after the season. They were NOT in a good place as a team after Draymonds meltdown. Myers and Kerr wasn’t to do whatever they could to appease KD. So they suspended DG. Now two years later those two go blame Kerr and Bob.
