Ducks get new uniforms

Who doesn't doesn't associate orange/black, yellow/green, crimson/gray, and purple/gold like I said above? It's been that way for well over a hundred years.

Honestly though, I don't care if you incorporate all those colors plus hot pink into your gear. Wear whatever makes you feel pretty.

But to deny that orange/black is strongly associated with OSU is just crazy.

Are the ducks wearing Orange and Black? or Crimson and Gray? or Purple and Gold? If not.. I'm not sure what the hell your point is.

I'm done going around in circles. Your guys look fabulous in black and the wings kickass.

yes many times thank you. Whether its more flash and swag.. Oregon has more noteriety than OSU. Not a knock on OSU, I think they have a very good program, and a hell of a coaching staff.

...I am not getting into a program debate, I am simply saying that fans outside of Oregon consistently confuse the two schools. :dunno:

...actually, outside of Oregon, the majority of fans confuse the Ducks with the Beavers [and vice versa] all of the time!!! :tsktsk:
its true...and pathetic...i dont get missouri and missouri state mixed up etc etc....

fair enough.. we can agree to disagree then. From my experiences in New York, Boston, Texas, Colorado etc in those areas.. they havent gotten them mixed up.

or are you just realizing you are arguing against a point that no one is making?

Chrome or not.. TJ Ward is one bad dude.

Bad analogy, considering Missouri State play in the same division that Portland State, Stephen F. Austin, New Hampshire, etc. play in, and Missouri plays in the Big 12.

This gray/silver with Chrome Helmet looks flat out BADASS.

Say what you want about the feathers, neutral colors, unlimited jersey combo's, etc because it honestly doesn't matter that much. I'm not sure how many people here are college age or relate to college students, but I can promise you that the majority of college age football players view this as a draw to come to the University of Oregon.

And they do look sick, particularly to the college age person.

Damn straight. The second video I know is hard to tell who it is. It looks like Penn State (white) versus Oregon State (black).

You may have as many players as you want who are drawn by a team's uniforms....if that's their calling in life, to be drawn to uniforms, then, I guess, more power to them.

You made the front page of Yahoo (or at least one of the top news stories)...

so if a higher rated college player is drawn to your uniforms as something cool... you dont want him?

I still cringe TO THIS DAY every time I see that hit TJ Ward put on OkSt's Quarterback. Just NASTY...one of the biggest hits I've ever seen, collegiate or pro. Then he popped back up, but didn't play as well for the rest of the game. I'm really glad TJ is back one more year, hopefully there's more sweet hits to come :)

Anyway, back on topic. As a Duck, I don't really care much about the uniforms...some of them look good, some of them look like crap. Again I couldn't care less.

That's somewhat right. A player who is drawn to uniforms and Nintendos in locker rooms might not have his head in the game. Of all the things a player SHOULD be thinking of when he signs a letter of intent (eg coaching staff, history, success in the pros, team atmosphere, god forbid academics, etc.), uniforms are way down on the list and should be pure fluff. I would, in fact, rather have a lower ranked smash mouth style player who has a chip on his shoulder and has something to prove than a player who goes to UO primarily because they want to wear a particularly colored or winged outfit.

To be clear, not all Duck players are drawn to UO because of the uniforms. They consider other things on that list that are more important and make a decision for the right reasons (even if going to UO really should ALWAYS be considered a huge mistake -- KIDDING, well kind of). If a player picks UO based primarily on UO outfits, then yeah, they probably are a headcase worth avoiding.

you don't even know.

I agree to that, but they are attention getters. I'm assuming most kids arent committing based solely on a jersey, that would be sad. But they will catch the eye. Legarrette Blount was mentioned as them catching his eye.

I love the new helmet. I actually like these a lot better than the diamond-plating.

I also enjoy reading the reactions of rival fans. It wasn't that long ago when Oregon wasn't on a high enough stage to draw the attention they get now.

i just named a random state with 2 colleges...lol i wasnt trying to be particular

The color scheme is growing on me a little more. I think I'll be fine in time. Thanks for the new pics beerboy.

This is ridiculous by the way. Ohio State wears white, and OMG Michigan does too! And both Oklahoma and Texas!

Which one of those schools has the copyright on "white"?

Black is a complimentary color. As a Blazer fan, I don't get pissed at the Spurs for wearing black. The Bulls, Raptors, Sixers, Heat and T-Wolves all currently wear or have worn black jerseys as well, and I've never felt like those teams were trying to steal the Blazers' identity.

I actually consider white the only "neutral" color on a sports uniform. I understand, however, that I am in the tiniest of minorities on this issue. For some reason, over time, black has become accepted as well. I'm still not sure I buy silver, however.

That being said, I'm sad the Ducks ditched yellow pants. I was waiting for the one game where they went all yellow and completely befuddled the announcers--it was all they could talk about.
