Ducks, NCAA agree on many 'major' violations

I heard about this when I posted in the other thread about haven't been sanctioned yet. It was from someone that should have known, but I wasn't sure he did, so I didn't speak up.

Now that this came true I will tell you what else he said.

Major penalties coming. Expect "USC type penalties" is what he said. Major scholarship loss and heavy bowl bans

Not gonna happen, since there isn't lack of institutional control being claimed. This is basically an updated version of the first summary judgement.

I don't get all the hype that is still surrounding this. The ducks did nothing compared to USC/auburn/florida or anything that the big SEC schools are still doing and getting away with.
Everyone knows the NCAA is curropt and has an ongoing problem with hypocrisy but it seems that its more of a story because some fan bases want these sanctions to happen for no other reason then, even if they don't admit it, Oregons style of play and team scares them. Or they are hardcore beaver fans, in which case its not only implied but expected for Beaver fans to want something like this to go down

Too many phone calls? One too many assistant coaches involved in recruiting?

This is what the clownshoes at the NCAA regard as "major" violations?

The report also outlines two crucial points for the Ducks. First, NCAA enforcement staff said they had “no finding of lack of institutional control and no finding of unethical conduct.” That could prove critical when it comes time to dish out punishment.

No finding of unethical conduct? WTF????

How is there major infractions when there was no finding of unethical conduct? Fuck the NCAA.

I will trust the guy who told me news was gonna drop about this over Mr Roper

So there is no evidence....but Ducks might get punished?

Really?

It's called the "Sit the fuck down and let the SEC win" violation. The Ducks were getting too big. Time to squash them.

Anybody who says they know what sanctions that UO is going to get is full of shit. I trust my UO sources, and have broken news on this site before regarding UO.

The whole thing just pisses me off. Just watch Auburn get off without any kind of serious sanctions.

He didn't say that.

He said he knew there was going to be an announcement about the sanctions and that he had heard they would be on the level of USC

I'm just going to be happy when the whole damn thing is over. I'm tired of hearing about it.

No matter how this winds up, Kelly looks like a douche for cutting and running.

So a probation would be a "STrike 2" of sorts. Okay, that works.

Anyone else feel a parallel with Tiger Woods and his illegal drop from this weekend?
  • Significant rules violation
  • Pointed out by an unrelated third party
  • ineffectual and maligned governing body
  • Unclear ambiguous rules
  • Claimed didn't know alleged actions were violation
  • Could and probably should get significantly greater penalty based on verdict
  • Actual evidence doesn't really support findings

It feels like the same story to me, except that one took place over a 24-hour period, and one has dragged out for about 2 years...

Is this the deal coming soon friend?

If this was really news, someone besides KATU would have broken it...it's an update confirming what most speculated. Slap on the wrist coming soon
