OT Ducks vs. Beavs (i.e. Civil War)

Who thinks this may become the most critical game of the season for BOTH teams?

I do.
Records will go out the window. It'll be a gargantuan tussle. It's the most important game of the year for both teams. However. sadly, I must give the edge to the hated Ducks. Why are they hated? Well, they're the Ducks and the only other significant football team in Oregon besides the beloved Beavers, the All American, All Oregonian team. Who's gonna bet me a beer? Okay, I might have to buy a lot of beers but just think of all the free beers if I win. I can drown in suds.

OK, well, I already owe you a fantastic steak dinner @ The Ringside (or such).

Soooooo...

How can I get some sort of double-or-nothing bet into the mix. Hmmmm??

An epic civil war showdown would be nice, on par with Blazers kicking ass in the playoffs.

Why would you use facts in attempts to ruin someones stereotypes? That doesn't seem like a fair tactic.
Ok, Im wrong now. I still have visions of going to watch my Ducks there back in the 60/70's with school police on horseback controlling the crowd coming and going. They didn't use whips however.
That school used to be well know as an Aggie school and probably still is, I would venture to say many were conservative in their beliefs, nothing wrong with that.

It is now, but it used to be more conservative as a big aggie school.

Ok, grandpa.... Oregon State changed from the aggie name in 1937.

Would you say the south is more democrat than the North?

Southern states leaned strongly democrat and north republican more recently than 1937.

Your story is your story... don't let me or anyone else stop you from telling it. I'm just here making light-hearted cracks!

How many times did the Grateful Dead play at Oregon State? Maybe, The Oakridge Boys?

He probably is a grandpa.

The city of Corvallis vs. the student body of OSU I imagine differs when looking at liberal vs. conservative and I wouldn't be surprised if OSU leans more conservative than UofO. I attended Oregon State as recently as 2016 and have friends that were active Young Republicans that also went there. Who knows, most young people or more liberal than the opposite so I'm sure it is still majority dem enrolled in any college these days. Who cares.

All I know is that the Beavers could have Osama on their squad and I'd probably still root for the ducks to lose.

Yes sir...71 year old granddad
I was at the game in Corvallis in 1967 when beavs beat OJ 3-0.
There weren't to many hippies around campus then, more FFA members than hippies.

The schedule actually sets up pretty nicely for OSU if they can get past UW this weekend. I don't really see a loss until ASU/Oregon to end the season, though knowing college football there is an L in there somewhere. Still an 8-4 (maybe 9-3) season is very much in play for OSU.

I mean, I saw young republican groups there when I went too. They would even set up at the MU. Definitely wasn't the most popular and arguments certainlt broke out from time to time. It was a big Obama time. When I was there.
Yeah, that's why I ended it with "who cares".

Edit: Forgot to hit reply.

6-7 wins and a shitty bowl game would be great after the last half decade.
